Sex Trafficking: Modern Day Slavery
Sex trafficking is a form of modern day slavery. It occurs when someone use force, fraud, or coercion to cause a commercial sex act with an adult or causes a minor to commit a commercial sex act with an adult. Sex acts such as pornography, prostitution, or any sex performances in exchange for money or value are commercial sex acts. Victims of sex trafficking includes both boys and girls usually around the age of 14-16. They are usually young and do not fully understand what is happening. Sex trafficking succeed only because there is a serious demand in the black market. The buyer’s fuels the market with their money, traffickers exploits victims to earn revenue from buyers, and the victims are bought and sold for profit.
