Jonathan Trager Most people believe in planning things out so that they feel they have control over their lives. Then there are those people that strongly believe in fate. That all things happen for a reason- things beyond their control that contribute to their life’s outcome. Jonathan Trager the main character in Marc Klein’s “Serendipity”, encounters such a woman named Sara, at Bloomingdale’s department store while Christmas shopping. Jonathan’s view on life.
Jonathan is very attractive, 35 years in age, tall, athletic build with short dark brown hair and dark eyes. His facial expressions always seems to be so serious with a hint of curiosity in his voice when he speaks. Jonathan is laid back but dresses very conservatively in jeans and a blazer. These two have an instant interest in one another and an undeniable attraction. After only spending a few hours together Jonathan realizes that Sara has an obsession with fate and he an obsession of being with her at any cost. You can see this when he asks for her number “1 You know, maybe you should give me your phone number. Just in case.” Sara responds “2 In case of what?” Jonathan says “3 In case of life. I just had a really great time and for all we know I wouldn’t be able to find you again.” The two characters are complete opposites but can’t seem to tear away from one another. The relationship Jonathan has with Sara is brief but life changing. They part ways at the end of the night leaving a lasting impression on one
