The ability to manage oneself is Self Management. It is very important for the development of an individual. Self management skill is very essential for person in order to attain success in both personal life as well as professional life. Self-management helps an individual to become more responsible in life and helps one to realize his full potential.
Although self management is widely discussed in the business scenario, it does not limit itself to this field only, in fact it deals with every aspect of human behavior. People who are able to manage themselves in a better way are able to maintain better relationships in their personal sphere as well. Self management also plays an important part in health care as patients are advised to be responsible for themselves. Let us take a look at the importance of developing self management skills in an individual.
Self management helps an individual in becoming a better employee. It includes being punctual, planning one's day, and ensuring that the given work is completed on time.
Self management encourages an individual to develop new skills over a period of time. In today's scenario, it is important to be multifaceted.
Self management helps in the development of interpersonal skills.Self management helps an individual to develop good relationships with people.
Self management instills a sense of confidence in an individual which helps in problem solving. Self management skills also help in ensuring that even the most difficult problems are dealt within a systematic manner.
I suppose that self management skills should ideally start at the school level so that students are able to learn how to become responsible for themselves. Self-management techniques are vital to be a successful student. It is quite common that students drop-out of university or drop out their course not because they find the course too
