To begin, industrialization had the first effect on the economy during the Second Industrial Revolution.Through efficient, cheap, and strong steel, machines, engines, railways, buildings, ships, weapons, and much more became easily manufactured. The transition to industrialization society was immensely difficult for the working class in the United States and in Europe (Sign in - Google Accounts). The working conditions for those people were dreadful, disgusting, and quite hazardous. It was reported that between 1880 and 1900 an average of 35,000 workers died each year in factory and mine accidents (Lewis, Lauren). The people wouldn’t stand for it Socialist groups based off of Marxist ideas began to appear in 1870, demanding for change to occur.
