Second Amendment: The Right To Bear Arms
The second amendment states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This amendment is one of the best rules that our forefathers gave us when they wrote the constitution. It allows the people to have some sort of defense if the government decides to rise against it’s own people. However the weapons that middle class people can own are nothing but amazing. The second amendment is good; however, it needs some restrictions on what ordinary people can buy and use in their homes.

I know four people that own pistols and some of their relatives own assault rifles. “Among 38 states studied, 5.7% of high school students from states with stricter laws carried a gun in the past 30 days. In states with weaker laws, 7.3% of students carried a gun in that time.” Teens cannot own any sort of weapons let alone firearms. Teens haven’t grown up into who they were supposed to be and some of them are extremely violent (but so are some adults.) Having stricter gun laws will help to lower the percentage of kids and teenagers who “own” weapons to decrease because some adults would be turned off to buying a firearm which would not allow their kids to get a hold of …show more content…
This does not mean that everyone may own whatever they want and to show that we are all responsible we need to change the laws now rather than later. In conclusion, gun laws now are of average effectiveness, but the safety of our families and our country relies on the strength of these gun laws and we need to take the initiative now rather than later to change them and empower
