saving our environment
Assalamualaikum and Salam 1 Malaysia
Thank you Miss Chairperson for inviting me to the stage
Good morning to all judges, time keeper, teachers, fellow contestants and audiences. I would grab this honour today to tell about Saving Our Environment. Before I begin, I would like to thank to Allah the Almighty who has given us mercy and blessing so we can meet together in this blessing place.
Saving our environment. How many of us do care about environment? How many trashes did you see around the road in the drain? How is the drain? You cannot see the flow of the water in the drain just because of the trash or rubbish. We all have the answer.
Ladies and gentlemen
Pour government has promoted the awareness about saving our environment, TV campaigns, posters, booklets, newspaper or even through the internet. How is our environment? Unchanged. The mother earth is suffering now.
I believe each and everyone of you including me here in this hall are aware of this issue. Majority of us has done this. An issue of ‘throwing rubbish out of the car window while driving’. Not a pleasant topic to talk but for the sake of our environment, I have to talk about this.
Ladies and gentlemen
Millions of Malaysian own at least one car. Can you imagine the volume of rubbish would be on the road if all car users in Malaysia throw a trash out of their car windows? Can we use the road? No. I’m sure we are not.
Days, weeks, months and even years the problem persists. The road maintenance workers keep collecting those trash, but for how long?
Ladies and gentlemen
Simple habit by certain group of road users that may affect us as a whole. We have to change. We are the agent of change.
The next question is how to tackle this bad habit? Malaysian mentality is very simple. They get summons, they can pay. So what do you think? How to educate them? Our attitude must change. But how to change it? We can paste stickers ‘Do Not Throw Rubbish Out of the Car’ at the car windows. If we really

I agree with Mr. Trippett’s argument on the scofflaws in America. Once everyone starts disobey laws chaos will ensue. People could possibly be hurting others or polluting the earth if they don’t dispose of waste properly and the noise could be highly irritating to some. In my experience with these scofflaws around the country I have almost be in an accident myself and I have actually picked up trash after someone else didn’t dispose of it. A lot of bad occurrences can happen when more and more people skirt these minor laws. Many accidents occur around the country and most are because of speeding and texting while driving. Many people litter and some don’t dispose of certain waste material properly which could cause pollution.…

Each city is Ontario dumps more them ten-tons of garbage each year on waste lands, or dumps their garbage into the ocean. This causes serious pollution, rending large fields of lands unusable and contaminates water sources in areas which are used for drinking. In addition, due to the unsorted compostiable materials is our garbage, they are then mixed with other wastes and produce strong odours in the air. For example, in early March 2007, in the City of Halifax around seventy people got sick because of the odours emitted from their old waste land: the cause of the problem was people concentrate less on separating compostiables from the rest of the waste. However, Halifax has a new program where employees at their dump plant remove the compostiable waste to avoid less land and air…

Got trash? Trash is a worldwide problem we do not think about; it impacts our lives continuously by compromising people’s health, wildlife, and the environment. Every individual has the responsibility to get involved, take simple steps conducive to minimize the amount of trash created and work with the community to educate younger generations, and with organizations to develop a long-term plan to prevent further damage to health, wildlife and environment.…

When I sent out a survey, I asked, “What do you notice about the trash on our campus?”, I got some answers that said, “It makes room 21 look bad, I rarely see people pick up trash” and “I see trash over the railing from old school projects and papers blowing around.” I see and agree with these responses.I think that when people see trash they should pick it up. Even one piece of trash can lead to a disaster. Something should be done about the trash around campus because the trash can hurt animals, can cause fires, and can cause unhealthy environment. I think something should be done about the trash on campus.…

Wasting is something we’re all fond of doing; it has become a very popular issue in my city. Whether arising from lack of time to consume, or greed driven. The council is stopping land fill, and having household waste collected in groups i.e. Glass, metal, food waste, plastic and paper. This assures quick delivery to recycling plants to be materially reproduced. There are also such bins in the city Centre and large banks at shopping centers. Also there are laws that are enforcing hard crackdowns on litterbugs and fly-tippers.…

Many times I have stopped and yelled at people who are driving in my car when they are about to throw things out of the window; I don’t hate, because that is an extremely powerful word, but I do despise the fact that people don’t have a problem with throwing their garbage wherever they please. Just because you finished eating your triple quarter-pounder with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and extra mayonnaise thirty seconds ago from whatever atherosclerosis causing grease pit, doesn’t mean you can take your filthy napkin and paper bag and toss it out the window like your John Elway! It seems like the majority of humankind either does not care or does not realize that the trash is either going to sit there on the side of the road or is going to be picked up by some nature nurturing chump like myself. It is absolutely horrible that people litter the land with Styrofoam cups, plastic glasses, and beer bottles that would take centuries to degrade.…

People in India just litter wherever they feel such as roads, ponds as there is no one to tell them. They just make any area a junkyard. Even if there is a dustbin nearby they don’t feel like putting it over there. People do not understand that this could be a very dangerous issue when time passes and especially when it rains. Because of the garbage spread over the areas, other animals consider it as food but they may also contain lot of toxic items like plastic which is harmful for their health.…
