Satire In Washington Irving's Rip Van Winkle
Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle has satire when Diedrich Knickerbocker says, “Rip was ready to attend to anybody’s business but his own” (Irving, 39). Rip does not want to have any responsibilities to his own farm. An example of Romanticism is in the story of The wife is when Leslie losing his riches and his wife still wants to be with him.
