Samantha Lahey's Story: A Day In High School
I'm Samantha Lahey, and I'm sitting in my regular chair in the principal's office. I always get out with an easy "yes" or "sorry Mr. Sharman I won't do it again," but today's a different story, and this time, I'll probably be expelled. And by the way, I like to be called Sam. "Nice Picasso miss Lahey but it's a highlighter, not a coloring book," Mr. Hood announced. I looked down at my paper, covered in orange squiggles. I looked up at him and shrugged, then he continued on. "I would like for you to finish sections two through nine for tomorrow, and please be sure-" the bell rang and I jumped from my seat and raced to the door. “That is literally impossible. I'm going to get a concussion from reading.” I said to Stiles. He mumbled in agreement. …show more content…
You wouldn't expect my best friend to be who she is. Straight A student, always passes work in on time, always studying. So perfect, it makes you sick. The complete opposite of me. Her name's Jill. Then there's Stiles, my other best friend. He's more like me, and if something goes wrong, you can bet it was us. I'm pretty smart. No, I don't get straight A's, but I pass. Stiles on the others hand, not so much. This is where my story begins, and I want you to hear it from me

If I went to MICA High, I would definitely try to be Stargirl’s friend. Since I have read the book from Leo’s perspective, I know more about Stargirl than anyone else in MICA High. I have read about her room, her office, and her personality, and I know that she is someone that I would like to have in my life. She constantly cheers you up and changes your life for the better. She’s simple, yet complicated, in a way that makes you feel enlightened. This is a person that I would love to befriend. However, barely anyone at MICA High appreciates Stargirl’s unique personality. I believe that they are much too hard on her She doesn't deserve all of this hate.…

When kids don’t get up it’s for a reason not because they're lazy it because they're tired of getting up at like 3:00 in the morning. In the article “The teen who woke up her school” by Jane Bianchi, it says “Missouri high schools start time 7:50 to 7:20 am” that's way too early. In “Should schools start later” by Lisa .M. Herrington, it says “40% of american schools start classes before 8 am” again way too early. In the video “Abc news report” it stated “next fall or so the school board of edu might move school back a half an hour”. I am in agreement with school starting later.…

“Take away my good name, take away my life” This is a quote that I’m sure everyone in this room can probably relate to. We all remember our high school days, we wanted everyone to know our name. We wanted popularity and our reputation meant the world to us. What we do and how we act reflects directly on our name. For Shea Simmons what happened to her name was not her fault. Shea spent countless hours practicing and working on Mock Trial, working towards getting the scholarship from the Metropolitan Bar Foundation. Everything seemed perfect and at the end of the finals-they had won! However, all that came crashing down a few days later. Because of one childish blog post, a coach with a thirst for winning, and a jealous teenager Shea’s dreams…

The school day started like any other day. I walked into the building and pressed my body up against the cold hard walls of the school so I would not be seen on camera. As I scurry down the halls, passed the office, I hear a familiar voice, "Lisa, get over here immediately." It was Mrs. Leone, the vice principal. Well there was absolutely no way I was turning around so I picked up the pace hoping she would just go away. My hopes quickly faded as I glanced over my shoulder and noticed she was right behind me, still screaming my name aloud. I turned the volume up on my MP3 player to avoid getting in trouble for opposition to authority after all, I do not disrespect teachers... on purpose anyways. I just simply could not hear her over my exceptionally loud music.…
