Sam Biggart Research Paper
My brother, Sam Biggart, is my biggest inspiration and role model. What makes him so amazing is that he hasn’t had the easiest life and has lost a lot of people, but he continues to live his life and doesn’t care what others think. He has showed me to have a big heart and to also help those in need. Something that I really look up to him for is that he will always put others needs before his own, and will always be there to make others laugh.
Sam has had a very difficult life. First off, he had lost his Dad when he was a little boy to Marfans syndrome. Later on when he was about 12 he had lost his Mom due to a car accident, so he ended up moving in with my family and I. It doesn’t quite end there; he didn’t only loose his mom to a car accident,

Sam has always put his sense of humor to good use by making someone laugh when they are feeling down. Thinking about his needs before anyone else’s is impossible for him. For example: on my sister’s graduation day, he went to the hospital with life or death problems and all he was worried about was her day being ruined. Because of him I always try to think of others before myself, and will always be open ears for anyone. He has always been the type of person to genuinely care for others; therefor he has inspired me to do the same. If you ever had the chance to meet Sam you would realize he is very passionate about life and living it to the fullest. He has showed me that you need to live every day like it is your last. Nevertheless when your time is up you should celebrate your life and be happy with it. Something he said that has always stuck with me is, “When I die I don’t want anyone crying at my funeral, I want everyone to be celebrating my life, while I’ll be cracking a cold one with the big man upstairs.” My brother has truly inspired me to become a great, loving, and caring person. He is the reason for who I am today, and he will continue to push me to be the best that I can be. I am truly lucky to have such an amazing role model with a huge heart. He will forever amaze me with his passion for helping others. I would be lucky to be half the person that he is

He understands me in ways no one else does. Even when I act like a cry baby or a spoiled brat. He’s always making sure I’m happy. Whenever I’m having a bad day at work I will ask him can he come see me. Even when he is extremely tired from work he will still manage to come see me at my job just to make me smile. Though I’m hard to put up with sometimes Zach always manages to come to my rescue. When I got into my first car accident, I was afraid to call my mom because it was her car I was driving. Zach was the first person who I called. He rushed over to my location, and once he got there he made sure I was okay and nothing major happened. I love him so much for being part of my life and opening new chapters for me. To conclude, Roger Rosenblatt suggests in his essay that even in desperate, dark times, people feel compelled to his love ones how he feels in the last few moments of life . For me, writing to say my goodbyes, to show the good of what they have done for me, and my appreciation would allow me to let my grandma, Destiny, and Zach know that God placed them, in my life to be here for me. if it wasn’t for them sometimes I believe that I wouldn't be in this place in my life right…

This led to him living in poverty and put him at a severe disadvantage. Given the time period he grew up in, he became an outsider. He was born into a well-off family, but the death of his father put my grandfather and his mother into a much lower social class, in which he did not have as many benefits as he would have had had his father been alive. His perseverance despite these unfortunate circumstances and his journey to make a better life for his future family are inspirational to me and show me that with all of the opportunities I am afforded I have no excuse to not make the most of them. I do not have to worry about putting myself through school, much less putting food on the table for my family from a young…

Tyler Evan is one of my many peers who have made a huge impact on my life. I meet Tyler in April of 2017 and though I have not know him that the long the summer we spent together has changed a lot about how I see the world. He has opened my eyes up to a whole new social class that I was not familiar with. When I was growing up I had supportive parents and never had to worry about financial problems. As me and Tyler began to get closer I found out that my life isn't at all what most people have. Due to some circumstances his parents were very involved in his life, and had little to no money. After all he had been through and all the challenges he has faced , It still shocks he that he is as strong and independent as he his. For me I had always seen the people on the street who lacked money but they never really meant anything to. People who have little to no money can be just a great, and hardworking as those who are wealth.…

Everyone has someone in their life who inspires them in some way. For me, it’s my uncle Nick. Kind, loving, and fun, he is the reason I aspire to live the best life I can live. He made me realize how important family was, and how to have a positive impact on the people around you. Everywhere he went he became best friends with everyone. He could walk into a party and not know a single person, and leave being the most known person there. Some people just have that way about them, and Nick was one of them. Unlike Nick, I don’t share his endless abundance of confidence and crecedence that strangers will accept me, but I do share his love of life. Whether it was talking about the Brewers, or hunting, or riding his Harley, he did it with passion.…

    Life as a House

George Monroe is a lonely and sad man. Divorced for ten years, he lives alone on the Southern California coast with his pet dog in the same run down shack he has lived in for twenty-five years, the shack which his father passed down to him. In the intervening years, ostentatious houses have sprung up around him. He's been at the same architectural firm for twenty years in a job he hates, which primarily consists of building scale models. On the day that he is fired from his job, he is diagnosed with an advanced case of terminal cancer, which he chooses not to disclose to his family. In many ways, this day is the happiest of his recent life in that he decides to spend what little time he has left doing what he really wants to do, namely build a house he can call his own to replace the shack. He also wants his rebellious sixteen year old son, Sam Monroe, to live with him for the summer, hopefully not only to help in the house construction, but for the two to reconnect as a family. Getting Sam to do any of it will not be an easy task as Sam, who has embarked on some self-destructive behavior, would rather do anything than spend time with his family, which also includes his mother Robin Kimball, her wealthy but emotionally unaffectionate husband Peter Kimball, and their adolescent children. In Sam, George sees an unhappy person in every aspect of his life, much like George was himself before that fateful day. What Sam decides to do for the summer may consider Alyssa Beck, his pretty classmate and George's next door neighbor. Through the process, George also reconnects with Robin, who admits that she's made some pretty bad decisions in her life. He may not want that reconnection to go too far considering his health. Ultimately George has much to do to complete all he wants before he dies. "Life as a House" offers audiences a chance to cry, laugh, and - at times - cringe at its harsh portrayal of a fractured family.…
