Fellow graduates, schoolmates, parents, teachers, beloved principal, guest speaker, good afternoon!

It is the day of commemoration; indeed, all of us are gathered here to recognize our 6 years of struggle, hardships and enjoyment as pupils. A new chapter of life for each and every one of us will now soon unfold, yes; this is not the end but the beginning of new adventures in the bigger world. Our journey maybe longer than our elders, but these longer years will take us to a successful life we wanted.

We are already halfway done, will you be discourage because of another 6 years run? We must not! Every single one of us has something to offer, and we have responsibility to ourselves to find out what that is. That’s the opportunity an education can provide, thus K-12 program is milestone where anyone can shine on their own.

This program offers us a variety of fields which we can choose for ourselves. Fields where we can enhance our giftedness, environment where we can fit in, and visualization of ourselves for the next 15 years will be clear view. Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you’ll end up. No one writes our destinies for us, you will write your own destiny. We make our own future. We need every single one of us to develop our talents, skills and intellect so we can solve our most difficult problems. If we don’t do that – if we quit on school – we’re not just quitting on ourselves, we’re quitting on everyone around and looking out for you.

Whatever you resolve to do, please commit to it. We have to really work at it, devote in it, and make every way you could think of to achieve it, because education is always there to offer guidance and enhancement all we have to do is be passionate about it and do not take chances for granted.

We may be parting ways today, but I know in the next future we will see each other as professionals, which K-12 helped us to be.

Good evening everyone; teachers, faculty, family, friends, and the Walkerville graduating class of 2008! Wow. This day arrived so quickly – this final high school farewell seemed so distant, but it snuck up on us before we knew it. School is tricky like that; one hour and fifteen minutes can feel as long as “”, while the end of the school year can come around as fast as “Brandon Holland running the 200 meter dash. The other three years went by quickly, but none accelerated as much as this final school year. And what an amazing time it has been, Walkerville – from grade nine to now, the experiences have been unforgettable, and small wonder, considering how incredible this school is and the amazing students that make up this graduating class. There is no other school like Walkerville. it is the best high school in Windsor Essex county. Walkerville is in its own class altogether - When I look at this graduating class, I see a group of outstanding young adults. I see so much respect, acceptance, and just all around an extremely classy group of guys and gals. The talent here, especially in this senior year is phenomenal. This senior student body is made up of simply amazing actors, athletes, artists, dancers, writers, photographers, singers, really smart people, and musicians. But at Walkerville, the talent never stops at one category. To just name a few, athletes take art and dance classes, dancers play bassoon, artists sing, musicians participate in extreme stunts such as the four man piggyback, swimmers play piano, businessmen play broomball, historians write toxic love poems, and if you’re a male dancer, then you’re a hero in general. Moreover, this graduating class is a stellar example of how extraordinary ability can be combined with good character and school spirit. This senior year has constantly shown love for their school, simply by getting involved in any way possible. Helping out at events such as frosh day…

Wow! Never in a million years would I think I would be here on this stage right now. Getting my diploma...maybe but giving the valedictorian speech to the amazing co' 2k15.... I must've done something right in the last few days here at Salem because it's been rough. Coming into high school was a shock to us all. No harsh dress code...no lines...no silent lunch; We had less rules and restrictions so we were all revved up and ready to get BUCK WILD! (Or at least I was) Until of course the first day came and I got lost on the same staircase several times. That was quite interesting. But anyway…I believe I can speak for us all when I say our amateur fantasies quickly vanished and reality set in. high school was absolutely NOTHING I thought it would be. The classes were longer, the building was colder, the teachers were a lot less lenient, and Dr.Williams was soooo loud! I just knew I wouldn’t make it, but thank god I was wrong! I’ll never forget the enthralling perils, both good and bad, we all shared in Mr. Wisdom’s 4th period class. From the launching of paper balls and powerades to the reenactments of high school musical scenes….let’s just say that our learning environment never had one dull moment! Of course we paid for it big time in 10th grade am I right? Everyone had tons of catching up to do. We all fell behind at least once within our high school experience. But all that matters is that we never stopped trying. Lucky for us we had a select few of teachers who never stopped believing in us. So I would like to take this time to recognize them. To Ms. Brassard you taught me that knowing everything did not make me a good student but merely attempting to learn the material is. You also taught me that attitude is everything and a pretty face is absolutely nothing with an ugly personality. You gave me the best thing a student could ask for out of an educator, HOPE. I finally possess beauty on the inside and I thank you for that. To Ms.…

Because our country is not ready to this program primarily the DepEd they have a trouble to handle such a big change in education curriculum. But on the other side, if handled very well by the officials and is given the right attention, sooner the Philippines will be able to produce competitive students as what they are aiming to have. we must first look for the benefits before we look at the negative sides since k-12 has a good chance for us to be globally competitive we must adopt to this changes even its hard for our country to give budget on education. More time spent in studying means more knowledge, so adding two years is a good idea. In addition, 12 years of basic education is one of the international standards for quality education. However, I think our government doesn't have the capacity to provide such kind of quality. Why? Because financial assistance is insufficient. Public schools can't provide enough reading materials. Also, it is ironic how they want teachers to utilize multimedia materials when in fact they can't provide those. Everything when we work together, no matter how and difficult impossible, definitely a good outcome. I see the future of K-12 program. We need our government as the main propagator of this k-12 curriculum , will be sensitive to everything, allocate the necessary funds for instructional materials, these buildings to construct and other necessary facilities. The teachers must be faithful to their oath, be an ideal being a good teacher to the students. Parents may be open minded and see the beauty and importance of this program for the future not only their children but as well as the future of the country. And above all, the students. They would be seriously study and do not ignore the goodwill of K-12 that is completely designed for the improvement of the quality education they…

    Debate About K to 12

    • 2318 Words
    • 10 Pages

The Department of Education’s planned shift to K+12 seeks to enhance the current curriculum and allow high school graduates to specialize and be equipped with skills to enter industry, a vocation or engage in entrepreneurial activity. Though reforms have been discussed since the Unesco Mission survey in 1949, it is only now that definite action on K+12 is being taken to move our education system up to international standards. But this does not end here. The move to K+12 is a gradual process that will need the time and commitment of all stakeholders, especially parents and teachers, because this kind of reform is not focused on one area alone but involves cohesive action from all sectors to address the needs of their communities.…
