Saint Paul Research Paper
Faith is our yes to God and His Son, Jesus Christ. All saints were faithful to God and His Son, Jesus Christ. However, not all of them were faithful at first. It is truly hard to follow Christ. It is hard to have faith and it is even harder to stay faithful. As Catholics, followers of Christ and Paulinians, we must fisrt have faith. The story of Saint Paul is one of the best examples of faith and not just any faith, but faith in God. Saint Paul was a Pharisee who became a “Christ apostle to the Gentiles.” He was indeed a man of faith, because he changed for the better through Jesus who called him from persecuting Christians to converting Gentiles to become Christians. He was truly loved by Jesus. Saint Paul follow Jesus and converted many …show more content…
"He was a man of considerable insight and understanding. He invited Barnabas and Saul to visit him, for he wanted to hear the word of God."(Acts,13:7)
He accepted the word of God and believed in the Lord. Many other Gentiles were converted as well.
The missionary journey started off very well. But, before we go to the second stop,it is worth mentioning here, the sudden decision of the young boy John Mark to leave the missionary journey and return to Jerusalem. Why he left? No reason is given. Acts 13:13, simply states: "John left them to return to Jerusalem."
Paul must have taken it very seriously, because, when later, the two apostles decided to begin their second missionary journey, this is what happened.

    To begin with, Saint Jerome was a Saint, a Scripture scholar, a priest, a monk, and a writer. He was also known as the Doctor of the church.     Paul was born in Tarsus in Asia Minor around 10BCE, as Saul. He was a Roman citizen and was of the pharisaic tradition - a Jewish sect, distinguished by strict observance of the traditional and written law. Paul was disgusted by the Christian movement as he, along with all other Jews, believed that Yahweh was the one true God and therefore Jesus was seen as a blasphemer. He began persecuting the followers of Jesus for straying away from Jewish tradition and believed he was doing the will of God. It was not until his trip to Damascus that Paul underwent a dramatic and heavenly inspired change of heart. According to Acts 9:4, Paul was blinded by a bright light then heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him. This revelation convinced Paul that God had indeed chosen Jesus to be the promised messiah. Following this, Paul was guided to the city of Damascus where a man known as Ananias was given instructions by God to lay his hands on Paul. He was instantly healed. Paul was baptized and changed his name from Saul to Paul. Through his dramatic conversion he was able to find truth from Jesus and began to share these new truths with the early Christian churches on his missionary journeys.…

    In the Acts of apostles, Luke’s story tells us about Paul’s missionary. A missionary is a person travels to different communities to Promote Christianity in foreign countries. Paul is from tarsus now a part of modern Turkey. Paul was born as a Roman citizen and was educated in Greek literature. Paul’s travels took to many places which are now modern countries. For example, Syria, Turkey; Macedonia, and Greece. In his Second, trip Paul traveled about 1800 miles. The first journey took place in an island in the Mediterranean Sea and also in South Galatia from 46-49 C.E. The second journey was from 50-52 C.E. and this journey took Paul into Europe. The last and final journey was from 54-58 C.E. and this took place in Ephesus. Paul was first known as Saul and he was a religious Jew. He wanted all Jews to follow the Law’s commands. During Saul’s conversion he was going to arrest a man who goes by the name of Damascus and was given the right to do this by the high priest. While Saul was on the road a light from the sky strikes him and he lands on the ground. Jesus begins to call out to Saul and asks why he persecuted him because since Saul persecuted followers he persecuted Jesus as well. The conversion shows that Saul has been touched by God. Paul was then told to go into the city and wait to be called by God. When God arrives, he comes with Ananias and he is told by the Lord to pray and cure Paul even though he persecuted Jesus. The Lord tells Saul that he was the chosen one who brings the Gospels to the Gentiles. Paul came from the Roman Empire where it was the ideal place for him to work. During Paul’s lifetime, the Roman Empire was pretty safe when it came to their transportation because their longest physical remnants, back in Paul’s day, where the durable roads.
