Saddam Hussein Accomplishments
Saddam Hussein was born on April 28, 1938. His mother attempted suicide while pregnant with him. He was considered useless to her because he was the only child with no father, nor anymore siblings. When growing up, he was abused by his stepfather. He looked up to his uncle for advise and help. Throughout his childhood he was arrested for stealing and even killing his teacher at just 10 years old. He was truly a killer from birth. Somehow, in his 20s, Saddam enrolled in law school in Egypt, where he also was religiously "saved" from his crimes. Throughout his 20s, he also was in an activist group that targeted unwanted government officials of Iraq. Later on, he came back home and his grandmother arranged a marriage with his cousin (his close uncles daughter). As his marriage progressed, Hussein went further and further up the power line. He ordered troops to invade Kuwait. This alerted the united Nations and The USA. They immediately ordered a cease fire and surrender, but Iraq kept pushing on. 1,000s of dying troops later, the USA ordered a surrender from them under high consequences. Of course, they didn't listen. So the USA attacked with full strike. Iraq finally backed out. Saddam Hussein was then a wanted criminal, not only for the attacks, but for the poor treatment of his country. Civilians were dying of hunger and disease. He didn't care at all. That made his own citizens turn against him. Saddam Hussein was finally captured, after many failed attempts, in an underground bunker near one of his palaces. The USA gave him a health check and then assassinated him. I believe that it was a good thing that Saddam was taken out of power. It would have been better to take him out earlier, but we didn't have the advantage. Saddam was taken out of power and Iraqis feud was over, for now.
