Does High School Really Affect Ones Future? There are a plethora of different kinds of students as kids take a journey throughout High School. The most impactful difference in students is the ones who take their work seriously and care about how they actually perform in school, and the kids who procrastinate and don’t have any motivation to succeed in their schooling. For the kids who do procrastinate, or don’t put any effort into a GPA, it will affect or can affect them greatly after High School, but for the students that do it can definitely help them in their future. According to “Its Time to Tell the Kids: If you don’t do well in High School, you won’t do well in College”. James E. Rosenbaum shares by this saying that he shares the same opinions, that if kids do well in High School kids can be better prepared college and life, whether it’s school work, or in managing everyday life. People who maintain a “higher than average” GPA and grades through High School have a high percentile to do well in college. Yes, there may be people who never work for great grades, and hold themselves back from what they could be accomplishing, but they could very much do well in college even though it didn’t show in High School. The thing that those kids don’t realize is that it minimizes your options on where they could go to for a college education. The reason for this is that the college takes an overview of all of the grades you could have ever had. By this they can determine whether or not you could maintain an education at their college, and after that they may want to see if you can pass certain tests or write an essay explaining why you should be qualified to go to their college. In the end, this could also affect your wallet, because it can end up costing a lot more money to take things that were unnecessary because of how you did in High School.
