Roller Coaster-Personal Narrative
When I was ten years old, I went to the Valley Fair, that's also when I went on my first roller coaster. As my family and I pulled into the colossal amusement park, I could see it, the largest roller coaster I've seen in my life. From a distance it looked like a giant knot, tied with green strings, raised hundreds of feet off the ground. I baged,"Mom, let's do that one first!" She nonchalantly responded,"sure." When I offered my sister, Jess and my Dad to join, but they simply denied it. They are always too chicken to do anything fun. We spent 15 minutes looking for a place to park while Jess and I were impatiently bouncing off walls. Every time I glanced at the roller coaster I urged with sudden excitement and anxiety. We finally …show more content…
The roller coaster started slowly torturing me with anxiety. My stomach was absolutely packed with butterflies. Then we hit the hill of the roller coaster, the biggest part. On the way up I could barely breath I was so scared, all the cars looked like ants and the people looked like grains of sand. I was starting to regret my decision to ride the roller coaster. Once we reached the top of the hill, the highest part the roller coaster froze for a few seconds... 1,2,3,4,"aaaaahhh screeeeaaam!!!" Everyone just bursted out screens and giggles as we plummeted towards the ground. I felt a huge pit in my stomach as we descended towards the ground. Then we hit the bottom of the huge drop and ascended back upwards, by this point all of my anxiety had vanished and endurance took its place. Then I just burst out laughing as we sped through to the next drop off. When I hit the second drop off I went back to screaming my eyes out, this drop off not as big as the first. The third drop off I was more prepared, so I sat expressionless as the roller coaster entered a shed type of thing where a light flashed in my face and scared the living daylights out of me. Then I realized that was the picture shown at the end and I was almost scowling. Right after the shed we pulled into the finish of the ride. Thank god! That was the scariest thing I've ever done, next to

We went a bunch of rides and the water psk was really cool too, but after we dried up, my dad said that it was just about time to leave. I stopped him while he was talking and asked if we could go on just one more ride. We went back to the roller coasters and stood in line for the Batman. The line was short because Six Flags was closing in about fifteen minutes. We walked up the stairs and buckled ourselves in. The ride started off slow but when we got to the top, It shot down as fast as…

The day I took off on my 4 wheeler, and left my Mom and Dad in the dust. It started out awesome and fun, then turned out to be very scary. It was July 4, 2013, my family and I loaded up our 4 wheelers for a fun day in the great outdoors. We all unloaded our 4 wheelers, then took off out into the desert. I wanted to see how fast I could go around the sharp corners on dirt roads. It was so much. I was having so much fun seeing how fast I could drive my 4 wheeler, around the sharp dirt road corners, I never looked back.…

The Fury, the fastest, longest, and tallest rollercoaster on the East Coast. With a top speed of 95 mph and a height of 325 feet makes it the biggest rollercoaster I had ever gotten on, beating the Intimidator 305 by 25 feet. I remember seeing on television and wanting to ride it really badly. It just looked so amazing and since I love rollercoasters and love riding rollercoasters, I knew it was something I had to do. I had ridden lots of rollercoasters before this one such as the Intimidator 305 and the Top Thrill Dragster, which I had enjoyed riding very much, and I figured that the Fury would be just as good. So I asked my parents of we could go to the Carrowinds to ride the Fury. They said yes and we went with my aunt to the Carrowinds.…

I grab hold of the sticky green railings that could be leading me to my certain death. The screams coming from the ride are unsettling but I continue to walk towards the coaster still. A safety message plays in the background that over every other noise in the park I can only hear faintly.…

Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars once spoke, "I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up my friend." At one point in my life, I found this quote to be totally insignificant. Now that I look back on my teenage years, I see it. The rollercoaster only went up from the point I opened my big, fat, attitude infested, mouth to my step-mother, Verona. The take off was bumpy, as well the entire rest of the journey up. Though it did eventually come down, not only going up. I came down an entirely different person and didn't have to think of life as a fictional roller coaster to stay happy.…

Abstract: Jesper Juul wrote the book Half Real: Video Games between Real Rules and Fictional Worlds (2005), which discusses game structures and explains the related impact to the players. In the chapter three of the book, Juul emphasizes that different rule structures provide different kinds of challenges in games. Accordingly, there are two distinctive ways of categorizing games: “games of progression that directly set up each consecutive challenge in a game, and games of emergence that set up challenges indirectly because the rules of the game interact” (67). Further, he claims, “[m]any games can be found on a scale…

I've always loved roller coasters. Or, at least I thought I did. The feeling of soaring through the air, warm wind blasting on your face and blowing through your hair, that "oh crap" moment that your body gets when you're plummeting downwards, and the adrenaline that surges through your body while you're watching the world flip and twist before your eyes in mind boggling ways are all insane.…

Another experience I had was when I was 9. I was tall enough to ride almost all the rides at Cedar Point and I was so excited to ride them. We had ridden all the rides we were allowed to ride until we reached the last one. I was so scared to do it because it was so tall. My parents forced me to go on it and I tried everything to convince them that I didn’t want to go. They made me go anyway. We got up and I screamed the whole way down. My fear was very stupid and now I love that roller coaster!…

When I lived in Michigan, one of my fondest memories was going to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. We lived over 3 hours away so it was a perfect day trip. When we reached Cedar Point Road, Lake Eerie was to the right and along the horizon seventeen roller coasters stood high as sky scrapers. As we entered the park we were greeted by Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. The park was soon filled with children laughing, parents pushing strollers, and adrenaline junkies looking for the next thrill. As the aroma of sugar candy coated apples filled the air, we dashed to the snack shop for candied apples and cotton candy. We enjoyed our sugary treats on the Giant Wheel which is known as North Americas largest Ferries Wheel. Coming off the Giant Wheel we find ourselves entering Snoopy town, where Snoopy and the gang entertained the audience with music and dance. As the show ended, we decided it was time to ride some coasters. The first coaster we rode was the world’s fastest coaster the Top Thrill Dragster which slingshot us from 0 to 120 mph in less than 4 seconds and in 15 seconds we were spiraled up 420 feet and back down to the finish line. We soon found ourselves wet on Shoot the Rapids the wettest water coaster that took us up and splashed us down. It was refreshing as the temperature was rising. Now we were at the end of the park and to our amazement stood the world’s largest wooden roller coaster. Its handsome and elegant architecture was admirable to look at. Aboard this coaster we were rocketed through the hills and turns, just like life, full of ups and downs. Above all Cedar Point Amusement Park is fun for all ages. It clearly left me with a lifetime of memories, to return home to Maui and share with loved…

It was a great experience because now I think it’s pretty cool and special to get stuck on a roller coaster. The chances of getting stuck on a roller coaster are very low and rare. Out of all the rides the American Thunder is the only one I have ever got stuck on. On that day, I learned that you could go from having the best time of your life to maybe almost…

My thoughts of dying on a roller coaster got so intense I would end up having night terrors about it. The night terrors were so intense that when I woke up I would pray and thank God that it was just a dream. The day had finally came and I knew that day that I would be forced to face my fears. The whole ride to the theme park my friends kept on talking about getting on the highest fastest and most terrifying rides first then try everything else. I soon joined in on their conversations they had so I looked…

At thirteen years old, I was the kid that no one wanted to drag to an amusement park with because I strictly stuck to the merry go round and swings. My parents were always eagerly trying to persuade me to at least try a roller coaster but I refused. Deep inside I wanted to be fearless and be able to jump on the attraction like there was no problem, but I was too nervous. All of my friends, including my family were adrenaline junkies, always wanting to get on the roughest and worst rides of them all. This naturally caused me to become even more frustrated when attending Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, which was very often. It wasn’t till one day when visiting the park that I decided I was not just going to take a risk, but I was determined to overcome my first roller coaster.…

Roller coasters can be deadly. For example, a teenager was killed by a roller coaster while trying to get his hat back. It blew off in the middle of the ride and he went into the restricted area to retrieve it. He was then killed when the ride crashed into him. Because of this fact, I freaked out when I found out that I was going to Universal with my family a few years ago. I didn’t know this, but I was going to have an experience of a lifetime at Legoland.…

Roller coaster rides are thrilling and exhilarating because of their speed. I used to think these scream rides went much faster than they actually do, but they simply pick up speed very fast, giving the feeling and impression of zooming through the wind. The air will gush at my face, making me believe I'm in the middle of a storm, or hurricane, which makes my hair go all over the place, as if I had recently received a really horrible haircut. The air flowing also gives me the chills, tensing me up inside and making me unable to move, just like the last time I had to play my instrument in public.…

A huge Mickey’s Fun Wheel jumped out at me right when I walked into the California Park. The colorful flowers set alongside a beautiful lagoon. The clip-clop of horse drawn carriages brought people back to carefree days. And of course, I never forget the biggest reason for going to Disneyland – the rides. There was a number of eye-catching moments here- some featuring otherworldly creatures, and white knuckle thrill rides through the clear sky.…
