Rock Candy Research Papers
This is how I fell, almost got glass inside of me, and how I got four stitches on my foot and couldn't walk of 3 weeks. Not my fault I stepped on glass that was inside a garbage bag.
So the story starts out normal, I wanted fruit snacks but my mom told me no because i already had 2 packs. So i decided i was going to get them myself, but of course being the tiny person i am I had to climb onto the counter.
So I decide to climb on the counter without knowing the risks i was taking. I grab the fruit snacks thinking victory! She doesn't even know. I hop down without noticing a trash bag full of broken glass, see the night before I was doing a science project, it was making rock candy. I decided to do it at home but i may or may not have any by

What started off as a normal day in the small Lakes Region town of Gilford New Hampshire quickly turned into a test of my ability to make the right choices and into a test of my moral rightfulness as well a judgment of my good character: It was a humid mid-August day in the Granite State; I was 14 years-old and was spending the weekend at my aunt and uncles house in Gilford. The day started like any other; my aunt and uncles morning shuffling woke me around eight o’clock and I went down stairs to find my cousin, Tyler, sitting at the breakfast with the ever-present Dunkin Donuts box open in front of him. I sat down and took my usual strawberry frosted donut. Upon taking a bite of that strawberry goodness, I asked…

I didn’t want to annoy the employee so I just ordered a Big Mac. When I pulled up to the window, I was nervous; I didn’t want the employee to see me because I had just made a fool of myself. But, the employee did see me and noticed that I was a teenager. He immediately assumed that I was part of a prank and asked me, “So where’s the camera?” to which I replied “What camera?” He chuckled, handed me the Big Mac, and I drove off. On the drive home, I laughed the whole time. I kept picturing the man’s face when he asked me where the camera was. But, along with the fun, this experiment was also a great learning experience. I learned that violating a social norm isn’t such a big deal after all. Before, I thought that doing something like this would be embarrassing and that people, like the McDonald’s employees, would make fun of me. But the only response I got from the McDonald’s employees was a little chuckle and life continued. Perhaps I shouldn’t worry about my social mistakes too much because the people around me don’t really care as much as I think they…

After a major injury, sometimes, you think you won’t heal and will remain crippled forever. That major injury happened to me in South Carolina. I found a restaurant called ‘The Library’, and I strolled across the street to the sidewalk in front of the restaurant when I got the bright idea to jump from the blacktop to the sidewalk. I sailed through the air, about to land gracefully when I saw the sharp metal rod in the ground midair and impaled my foot one inch into it. I forgot about the incident after a few days, and it didn’t become such a big deal as I thought it would’ve.…

Not to mention the pile of glass broken in the street. So I went over to pick up the glass and when I went down to pick up the glass the sharp edge pierced my glove and sliced through my skin. I had cut myself pretty bad and my friend said I should run in and get it bandaged, but I told him I'd stay and pick up the glass and litter with him still. And couldn't believe I cut myself on that piece of glass. I had picked up glass many times that say before this one, but of course the last piece of glass I try to pick up, I cut myself on it. This was kind of unfortunate and I was in a lot of pain, but I kept going on so that we could get this over with quicker.…

For my breaking a social norm, my friends and I wanted to do something creative that no one in my class would do. So in a couple of minutes of thinking we figure something creative. Our plan was to go to McDonalds and use the drive thru to order our order, but the catch is that I was supposed to walk to the drive thru with no car just me standing there ordering my order and when they said to pull up to the next widow I would just walk to the window and pay and walk to the other window to get my order. We did this after the homecoming dance around like 10:40. So I basically I got of the car I started walking to the drive thru and I was basically stuck in traffic. I got behind this black ford SUV and I waited for my turn. So finally it was my turn and I order everything on the dollar menu. But my friends also told me to say “god damn!” while I order something. So I sounded like this “can I get a goddamn McChicken” So the guy said please drive up to the next window and I started walking. When I got there you should’ve seen his reaction like he was expecting a car not a guy walking to the drive thru. He didn’t say anything he just gave me change back and I started walking to the next window to pick up my order.…

My six year old self was wearing a pink velvet hello kitty long sleeve shirt and jeans that had embroidered sparkles and butterfly designs. Obviously I was dressed to impress. After visiting with my parents for a couple weeks I was about to spend my first night with my new family. My mom is a petite Asian women but despite her small frame she is exerts confidence and has a Type A personality while my dad is a big white guy who is kind and is perfect for my mom because he is Type B personality. Upon meeting them I knew they were perfect for me because I coincidentally looked like my mom and had her stuberness but had my dad's soft side. I already had the night planned in my head, I would go and play then eat a delicious dinner and then convince my parents to watch The Little Mermaid before I had to go to bed. When I got to my new home I rushed to play doctor with the chocolate labs who would soon become my best friends. I was later called to dinner and that's where my vision of the perfect first night crashed and burned. On my plate was a grotesque pile of salad taking up at least a third of my plate. This was not acceptable in my book. I proceeded to give every excuse to not eat The Salad.…
