“One of the greatest actor in history!” In which many people describe Robert De Niro. He was born in New York City in 1943 and started off training at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the American Workshop. He first became famous through the movie “Bang the Drum Slowly”(1973) but received better reputation as a volatile actor in the film “Mean Streets”. He has received countless amounts of awards through movies he was in. Some of the movies he is known for is “Casino”(1995), “Meet the Parents”(2000), and “Goodfellas”(1990).
In the movie “Casino” Robert De Niro acts as Sam Rothstien, who runs the mob-owned casino “Tangiers” and his relation ships with his friend Nicky Santoro and his married love Ginger. In the film Sam Rothstien is a very smart and sharp person. He finds all the flaws going on in the casino and always protects the casino from it. Robert De Niro does very well on acting on all of these main aspects of Sam Rothstein and especially his sharpness.

Greg plans to marry Pam but her strict father Jack expects to receive permission before he asks Pam. Greg goes to Pam’s house to meet Jack for the first time over the weekend. In the film, Jack is a mysterious character throughout the film. He seems very nice at first, but there are many signs of his dark side throughout the film. He is also very protective towards Pam; Jack tries to figure out every single imperfection of Greg. Robert De Niro acts well at being a seemingly nice character, who is not.

James Dean was born on February 8, 1931, at the Seven Gables apartment house located at the corner of 4th Street and McClure Street in Marion, Indiana, to Winton Dean and Mildred Wilson. Six years after his father had left farming to become a dental technician, James and his family moved to Santa Monica, California. He was enrolled at Brentwood Public School in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, but transferred soon afterward to the McKinley Elemetary school.[5] The family spent several years there, and by all accounts young Dean was very close to his mother. According to Michael DeAngelis, she was "the only person capable of understanding him".[6] In 1938 she was suddenly struck with acute stomach pains and began to lose weight quickly. She died of uterine cancer when Dean was nine years old.[5]…

Director Martin Scorsese's film Goodfellas, released in 1990, implemented several techniques of the formalist style. Many are used to impress upon the audience the gravity of the brutal and anxious events of this true story depicted on film. First and foremost, the opening scene, that when more of the film is viewed seems to be out of position, places the characters, Henry Hill (Ray Liotta), Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro), and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci), in the woods standing behind a car in a long shot. The camera switches to zooming in on the trunk of the car for a close-up while loud noises seem to come from inside it. It then switches to zooming in for a medium shot of De Niro and Pesci as they prepare to take some sort of action against the thumping resonating from their trunk as the shot pans over to Liotta's character opening the trunk with his keys. When the trunk is open it is revealed that a man is occupying it and Tommy DeVito lunges at him with a huge kitchen knife with the violence being shown in medium shots as well as the shooting of the body by Conway with the blood splattering on the camera, a deliberate choice of Scorsese. Henry Hill then enters into view again as narration begins while he slams the trunk shut and the camera tilts up and zooms…

Predominately in the first hour of the film, there is an extensive use of quick pace editing, boisterous music, and the heavy dual voice narrative between the compulsive Ace Rosthein (played by De Niro) and the psychopathic mobster (played by Pesci). That shows Scorsese's demonstrative intent of never giving the audience an objective view of what is going on in the film. Scorsese also does a noteworthy job of creating a unique and genuine job of creating the atmosphere of Las Vegas. This is displayed in an aerial shot of the dessert of Vegas in which Ace states, " At that time, Vegas was a place where millions of suckers flew in every year on their own nickel, and left behind about a billion dollars. But at night, you couldn't see the desert that surrounds Las Vegas but it's in the desert where lots of the town's problems are solved." It is in these beginning moments that make the city of Las Vegas feel just as alive as many if the characters in this film.…
