My grandmother once told me you really have to work hard and apply yourself and by applying yourself and working hard and being diligent, you can achieve success. Diligence isn't just something you're born with you have to be industrious and working every day to reach that final stretch. Hopping and happening aren't the same thing and the difference between them is diligence. You can hope something will happen but if you ever want it to happen you have to have diligence. You must be careful and keep trying and trying to obtain the name of diligence. In the definition of diligent it states diligent is Having or showing care and conscientiousness in one's work or duties. In the book River Secrets by Shannon Hale the protagonist Enna Burning is gifted with the ability of wind and fire. Enna is a strong independent girl and wants to go to war and fight with her gift but her best friend Ise rejected this idea and tells Emma to stay but Enna is a diligent girl and persuades Ise to let her go Enna is putting herself in much danger by doing this but her country is depending on her. In the book River Secrets by Shannon Hale the main boy character is a idle and lazy person. Razo able to do so many things if he tries and he's diligent but he struggles with not believing in himself. Razo was asked by captain Talon to go to war with the army not knowing why Razo quickly declined this offer and told the captain to leave him alone at once he was just using him. This decline made the captain furious so Razo studerdly changed his mind and took up this offer. Talon pushes Razo along this journey and final Talon decides to tell Razo why he was really brought on this mission. From that point on in the book Razo has been the most diligent and industrious soldier to ever walk
