Washington Irving is one of the successful writers in satirical essay in Europe. He considered in the emotion and nuance of people in society. One of his popular short stories is named at Rip Van Winkle. It focus on the people in society at that time, he was successfully in describe the character in the story. This story first appeared in The Sketch Book in 1819 but soon it became the legendary. It talked about the man named Rip Van Winkle.
