It was Darzee and his wife. They were very sorrowful and sad . Rikki Tikki saw how sad they were then asked “What’s the matter?” Dare replied back saying “we are very miserable, one of our babies fell out of the nest and Nag ate him.” Rikki thought that it was a very sad situation but he didn’t know who Nag was so he asked. Darzee and his wife suddenly cowered down into the nest. Rikki Tikki being unsure jumped back and turned around to see a black five foot long cobra. He then replied “ I am the great Nag”. Rikki and Nag both knew that mongoose would kill and eat snakes so he was already a threat in Nag’s eyes which would explain why the parents needed Rikki- Tikki to watch Teddy in the nursery. Rikki Tikki and Nag talked about how wrong or how right it was for him to eat the little birdie. As they were talking Darzee screamed “Look Out” and Rikki Tikki jumped back only to find Nagaina. Nag’s wicked wife. When a mongoose feels threatened their eyes light up with redness in fury.

In the evening later Teddy came running down the dirt path, and Rikki Tikki was ready to petted. When all of a sudden the words “ Be careful I am death” were said. It was Kerait. Again Rikki Tikki’s eyes grew red with fury. Rikki Tikki found a place to kill Kerait before he strikes him. Then Teddy ran shouting into the house “Look our mongoose is killing a snake”. Father ran out with a stick but the job was already done . They praised him for the

The plot of the book developed at a very quick pace during the orientation and became more detailed throughout the violence. The book of Rikki Tikki-Tavi explains the life of a young mongoose that is separated from his family and normal environment due to a summer flood. The book involved two complications, one being Rikki Tikki’s separation for his family and the other being that deadly snakes are in charge of the new environment that he is having to adapt into. The climax of the story was Rikki’s first fight with a snake because it showed his bravery and was the beginning of his adventure to defeating all the snakes. Rikki Tikki resolved both his problems by settling into his new environment and found a new habitat. He also managed to kill the snakes and destroyed the eggs so that another dynasty of the snakes couldn’t begin. The theme of the book version of Rikki Tikki-Tavi is bravery and courage which are both demonstrated by Rikki throughout the whole story. The plot of the film is also the same as the book except there are changes of sequences of events.…

For instance, this is demonstrated when Rikki eavesdrops on Nag’s plan to kill the big man then forms a plan around it. (236-237) Rikki wouldn’t have been able to stop Nag from succeeding in killing the big man if he hadn’t overheard Nag talking to his wife. In addition, in the story Rikki knows that in order to kill Nag he must bite his hood and not let go, otherwise Nag can bite back. (237) Rikki has never fought a cobra before so it showed much cleverness when he knew where to bite, even if he’s inexperienced.
