Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
This chapter contains the background of the study, statement of the problem, theoretical base, conceptual framework, variables of the study, significance of the study, scope and limitation of the study, and definition of terms.
Background of the Study
Island Garden City of Samal has been known by many tourists for its natural resources and bountiful production of goods. As the economic success of this island increases, transportation is one of the biggest factors that affect its growth. By the help of the city engineers and the local government units, the road project that connects from one barangay to another has been possible. As the time goes by, still many places in Samal has not been cemented due to the uneven distribution of lowlands in the said area. Transportation is a big hindrance to the upward growth to the economic status and also for the safety of the people in the Island Garden City of Samal. This issue about the roads in Samal, particularly in terms of transportation is now a major problem of the city government. Thus, the purpose of this study is to help and understand what are the possible actions to the problem in terms of the roads by means of transportation in Island Garden City of Samal. Statement of the Problem Specially, this study aims to answer the following questions:
1. Is there any complication of the road in the Island Garden City of Samal in regards to transportation?
