“The curious incident of the dog at night-time”, is a adult fiction novel, written by Mark Haddon, about an autistic, 15 years old boy, Christopher John Francis Boone, who lives in Swindon, England with his father, Ed Boone. Christopher is incredibly intelligent in Mathematic and Science, and loves number, animals, puzzle and logic. Christopher discovered the death of his neighbor’s, Mrs. Shears’s dog, Wellington. When Mrs. Shears and the policeman arrived, he was mistaken as the dog murderer, and due to his lack of interaction and communication with people, he hit the policeman and was taken in custody. The overall theme of this novel is to notify us the importance of being independent, and the ability to overcome challenges, even if you have special conditions. It also delivered the importances of communication and interaction between people because Christopher received many help from friends, teachers, and strangers along his journey in life. The title of this novel “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time” caught my attention because I really like mysterious novels, whether it is fiction or nonfiction novels. The way the novel is written was pretty interesting, it is told in a perspective of an autistic boy with sense of humour. The fact that the book Christopher was writing about the investigation is also the book we are reading now is very creative. The book was easy to read, but the content was also distracted by other details of Christopher’s life. As you read further, you will start to understand more facts about Christopher and the people surround him. In the book, it included several details of his surroundings and the people, for example: The clothes, and details of what the character wear (Later in the novel, Christopher explained he wrote the important details so the readers will imagine exactly what he
