Response To Conflict Research Paper
How do you respond to difficulties or problems in your life? People have been in conflicts since the beginning of time, and always is happening in our lives today. There are many ways to solve conflict, but one outmatches them all. The best way to respond to conflict, and has been seen throughout history, like Anne Frank and Louise Ogawa, is having a positive attitude.
One example of a positive attitude helping someone through a conflict is Anne Frank. Anne Frank was a jewish girl at the age of 13 when she started hiding from the Nazis in an old, dusty attic. However, under the circumstances, she made the best of it. She had a diary that was published and titled Anne Frank: The DIary of a Young Girl. Anne glued up postcards, as her diary says, “Up to now our bedroom, with it’s blank walls, was very bare. Thanks to Father-who brought my entire post card and movie-star collection here before hand-and to a brush and a pot of glue, I was able to plaster the wall with pictures. It looks much more cheerful.” She was trying to lighten the mood of the room by putting up pictures, and making it more positive. Anne, of course, …show more content…
In the book Dear Miss Breed: blah blah blah blah, Japanese-Americans write letters to a librarian (Breed) that puts them in a book. (from what I know) A Japanese-American named Louis Ogawa writes Miss Breed from a camp. The camp was terrible-to say the least-with cramped bunks, no water on Sundays, and blazing heat. She writes, "Today, I ate cabbage, rice, and weenies with a knife. That was a new experience for me!" Showing that even though she was in a terrible place, she was trying to stay positive by being excited by a new experience. In her letter, she also wrote that the scenery was beautiful, being positive in a dry and uncivilized desert. Of course, there are modern examples
