Did respect for the elderly stopped?
ABSTRACT
The experiment focuses on the recent study by Professor Luke Gormally about the dignity and respect for the elderly. This study aims to know about the prudence and care of the teenagers in elderly people. This will determine whether prudence of younger female and male is still manifest in our society. The researcher used field observation. And the result was the male still has the prudence to help elderly people.
INTROCUCTION
One of the legacies here in our country passed on to generation to generation was the respect for elderly people. From the time of our heroes and until our country got its independence. The respect in Philippines is known and practiced by all of Filipinos. But as technology has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways and continuously developing. The media, entertainment and internet have been widespread used by all of us and it affects the way of molding behaviors of children. (Goessl,2009) According to Goessl, daily users of internet help to turn them into bunch lazy, spoiled, disrespectful slobs, to an extent. It exposes them to all sorts of filth, porn, racism and the world of adults which has also deteriorated, in a vicious cycle. Unfortunately, almost older people has no capability to do all of this. Because of this, elderly people are often seen as irrelevant at best and useless at worst.
METHOD
Hypothesis:
There is significant relationship between prudence of female and male teenagers and their respect for the elderly.
Apparatus:
One female elderly accomplice will act as the instrument to measure if a male/female will help her.
Procedure:
The researcher used 5 subjects for the experiment. The respondents will be female and male teenagers. This study will use field observation where the female accomplice will be active participant in natural setting. The setting will be, while riding on a bus from Cavite-Manila.
