Plagiarism Policy of UC Davis

In the University of California Davis the students and staff members are to abide by the Code of Academic Conduct. UC Davis promotes Honesty, Fairness, and Integrity through the Code of Academic Conduct. Plagiarism is one of the main focal points in this code. Any violation through plagiarism will result in disciplinary actions such as probation, suspension, and possible dismissal.The definition of plagiarism directly from the Code of Academic Conduct:

“Taking credit for any work created by another person. Work includes, but is not limited to books, articles, experimental methodology or results, compositions, images, lectures, computer programs, internet postings.

Plagiarism is a very serious violation of the Honor Code, leaving the student at the likely possibility of the removal from UC Davis. This applies even if the student is a first time offender. The student will be notified through an email if suspected of plagiarism. After being informed the student will then meet with the Office of Student Support and Judicial Affairs , also known as an “OSSJA ”. The student then, hears the punishment and is given the choice to disagree. If this is so, then the student will apply for an appeal, and the Campus Judicial Board (CJB) are who grants or denies the student's …show more content…
