For over 1,000 years, everyone thought everything revolved around the earth, but Nicolaus Copernicus had a different idea that we base off of still today. He was a doctor and a church amidisteror, but still, impressively, put in time for his favorite thing, astrology. Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473 in Torun, Poland. He was born into a very wealthy merchant family of six. His dad passed away when he was 10. His uncle then took him under his wing promising for him to receive the best education. Which he did get. Copernicus was given the best education of the day, Canon Law. He also studied medicine and received a doctorate in Canon Law at University of Ferrara
