Research Paper On Malala
During the summer break one of Xavier's required reading included I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban. As I read Malala's struggle towards seeking education for not only herself but for others, I realized how fortunate and privileged I truly am to have the opportunity to attend All Saints' Episcopal Day School and now Xavier College Preparatory. I never had to stumble in order to receive an education. From reading Malala's story, I realized that the most meaningful part of my Xavier education is, of course, receiving the education itself, especially with rigorous classes, variety of clubs, and the Xavier community by my side. My teachers are a vital component of my education. Without them, there is no reason to attend Xavier. In Mr. Cosden's honors English II class, I have learned so much already! His class is one of the most challenging that I have taken. His kindness, brilliant mind, and curiosity is an inspiration to me. As I continue to learn from him this year, I hope to be just as smart as him someday. My Chinese teacher, Ms. Chen (aka Lao Shi) is such a sweet, patient, and caring teacher. Her class is the reason why I …show more content…
Overall, Xavier's curriculum is excellent. As I treasure everything technology oriented, I am especially grateful that Xavier requires sophomores to learn the basics computer programming. I am determined to develop my computer programming knowledge. Therefore, it is astounding that Xavier also offers AP Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, and a Mobile App Development elective! Not only does Xavier provide computer programming related electives, electives such as 3-D printing and prototyping, maker class, and robotics are offered. I desire to learn from all these electives (or at least as many as possible) during my next years at Xavier. Someday, I hope to accumulate all of my knowledge to create something to help people one

Claudette and Malala heroically stood up for their injustices in the community. Claudette didn’t get up knowing the backlash she could get for not being oppressed by a “superior”. Malala got up that morning knowing that she probably wouldn’t return home that day. I feel like these women knew the risk but fought for their rights that had been taking like they were a child on punishment this why I nominate these for this essay.…

For my entire life of schooling, both my parents and I would agree that I constantly complained about the educational systems in which I was enrolled. But when I actually take the time to think about everything I have been through, I realize that I have indeed had an excellent education. My schooling was full of opportunities and experiences, all of which contributed to the person I am today; adequate education has been an indispensable facet of my being. Sadly, not everyone has had this same privilege. And now as a college student, I am becoming even more aware of this sad fact. Looking around me in such a diverse city as Chicago, I find myself being more and more grateful. When I read Jonathan Kozol's Fremont High School, this these feelings were even more reassured.…

On the night I shared the news of my nomination as one of EIU’s 2016 Top Black Achievers with my family, my younger cousin, Diana, sent me a message saying, “Congratulations. I aspire to be as great as you. You literally inspire me to try hard to be successful.” To which I responded, “Aspire to be even better!” I was moved beyond expression. Diana’s words made me realize that by remaining steadfast in my quest for educational enrichment, I am also positively influencing young people who look like me and come from similar socioeconomic backgrounds. My quest for education is sending the message that not only can they reach the doors of higher education, but they can work even harder and accomplish so much more. Coming from a social climate that either indirectly or…

The teacher that had the most impact on me was Mark Whitney. Before I came to MiraCosta college, I was in Japanese high school which I hated it. I saw some of the teachers are very unhelpful and passionless, and they did not care about me since my score was always the low group in the entire student of the same grade. They pretended to care about my, but every time I knew it was a lie. Therefore, I did not expect that much about the professors when I first came here. However, when I started taking his class the way I think changed a lot. First of all, he was passionate about teaching, which surprised me. Now, after taking so many Child Development classes I know most of the professors are very passionate and helpful for me, but at that time,…

How difficult is it really to make a major impact on the world? At first it may seem rather simple by speaking freely about a topic or posting on social media, but how do you manage to effect the entire world and not just the people that are closely in contact with you? Gandhi once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan has taken this idea totally transformed it into a major issue that needed to be address in her country. She has taken the world by storm by fighting the Taliban over women’s rights first, by creating an anonymous online blog expressing her thoughts then, receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, and also by publishing an autobiography.…

Tons of people tend to think that the newly used slogan “Black Lives Matter” only consists of the murders and assaults of African Americans within the past few years that whites have committed. The black youth fear to have children because they would hate to have their child endure such things that will be discussed later. To improve such situations, black people must raise public consciousness of this injustice by the means of social media…
