Research Paper On Dystonia
Dystonia is a movement disorder dominated involuntary muscle contractions. Kurstot and Forsstorm(2010) stated thats dystonia causes twisting of muscles or abnormal postures. The involuntary muscle contractions affect the same muscle or muscle groups over and over. The abnormal muscle contraction is caused by a dysfunction either at the spinal or cortical level (Kurstot and Forsstrom, 2010). Treatment consists of oral medication, a botulinium toxin injection, a surgical approach, limb immobilization and orthosis, or physical and occupational therapy.
