Research paper on Creative vs Logical Thinking
Are you more creatively thinking or logical thinking? A lot of people consider themselves to be mostly creatively thinking. I for example, personally considered myself more logical thinking. But after research, it is noted that while there are advantages and disadvantages to both types of thinking, they both can be learned. However, without learning them, our brain first prepares a style of thinking over the other. Some people’s brains prefer thinking more logically than creatively. Others find it easier to be creative. Some people want to explore the world and as the Doctor from the famous show, Doctor Who, would say, “There's something that doesn't make sense. Let's go and poke it with a stick.” (Moffat) However, others like to figure out the way the world they know works. They try and work out the solutions and the hows and whys. Creative thinking and logical thinking both have their disadvantages, but if you work to better both of them you could be even smarter and have a higher chance at success.
Creative thinking is the thinking when we are coming up with new ideas. This is for example: writing an essay, painting, writing music, inventing a new type of processor for a computer, etc. It is also called inductive thinking. This is when you two things share common similarities, so then if a third thing is similar to one of them, then it is equivalent to them. This isn’t always true, but is the basic idea. It is also the thinking when you are coming up with are planning for something. There are two types of creativity. There is the type we all have to start thinking of new ideas, even if others have done it. Then there is the type that others have never thought of. Thinking outside of the normal standards to create completely new ideas. (Strong) Creative thinking is also used for solving more real life type problems. It is thinking of all the possible ways to solve the problem. (Wandberg) In summary, creativity is the process of thinking of new ideas.

The definition for creative is using or showing use of the imagination to create new ideas or things. The definition for critical thinking is disciplined intellectual criticism that combines research, knowledge of historical context, and balanced judgment. To really evaluate those words should be the first approach to changing yourself. I say that because if a person did not possess any of those qualities, then they should because the opportunities that those two words contain are limitless.…

Creativity is all about helping children develop their imaginative skills through exploration of different materials and ways of expressing themselves, for example this can be methods like dance, building and also traditional creative methods like painting and drawing, story time, puppets, circle games and others. Creativity is all about allowing children to express and explore themselves and take risks in doing so. This doesn’t necessarily have to be in a proper way but could be simply their own play, for example their role play is an expression of their creativity. And doing all that, during this process creative learning happens. Creativity helps for child to develop their social, physical, intellectual, emotional and communication skills. Gives opportunity for children to express their feelings. For example if child feels sad or happy, he can express that in his drawing and then someone has opportunity to ask him how he feels about it. Critical thinking is a common "buzz phrase" in educational, psychological, and Philosophical, circles today. Much work has been completed in the name of critical thinking in education to date that not only leaves one wondering how it is measured, but also leaves one groping for a cognizant definition of critical thinking. Part of this ambiguity lies in the existence of multiple definitions for critical thinking. Creativity is a complex construct and is most commonly expressed through a broad range of intelligences including linguistic, musical, mathematical, spatial, kinesthetic, interpersonal, and perhaps even intrapersonal .In a classic study of creativity, Taylor proposed the existence of five typologies for creativity. These were expressive, productive, inventive, innovative, and emerge native. Expressive creativity is the type of spontaneous creativity often seen in children and is exemplified in drawings and play. Scientists and artists illustrate productive creativity. An element of spontaneous production remains, yet is characterized by the need to create rather being restricted by the need to express. The third classification is inventive creativity that may be described as a problem solving or a creation to improve an existing technology. An example would be an engine invented to make farm tractors more fuel-efficient. Innovative creativity deals with the capacity to improve or reinvent an existing organism or object through the utilization of conceptualization skills. An example is the recent movement to reinvent government, in which the existing governmental structure was redefined through reconceptualization. The final type of creative skill is emerging native. Creative thinking involves searching for meaningful new connections by generating many unusual, original, and varied possibilities, as well as details that expand or enrich…

For me, when someone is able to think and come out with something different it is defined as Creative thinking. There are two types of thinking: Divergent and Convergent thinking. Divergent thinking is someone who is able to brainstorms as much ideas as possible, considering others possibility and ask for opinions from others. Furthermore they seek references form other resources to build up on their ideas. They think out the box and have a wider perspective of view. Whereas, Convergent thinking focuses just on the main idea only and come out with a few possibilities. So I personally feel that divergent thinking is the best way to build rapport and camaraderie with one another and also an effective way to solve our task effectively and efficiently.…

Critical thinking is trying to identify the details of any type of situation. Its like getting details down to the last possible one. For example you use critical thinking when planning a surprise party and trying to get everything just right for that person. Most people use critical thinking when they are trying to figure out answer to a problem that require more than just the low level logical thinking. Creative thinking is more along the lines of using your imagination in order to create a thought that can be used in your writing. Creative thinking is where I believe ideas for new products come from. The creative part of the mind lets the person imagine the item and they use there own ingenuity to create it. Creative writing is method that uses creative thinking because you…

Firstly, student can derive some benefits from creative thinking skills. Students can live independently if they are taught creative thought. Browne (2010, para. 5) quotes De Bono’s words (no reference) that ‘teaching thinking gives youngsters the ability to take charge of their lives, the ability to make decisions, make choices and so on’. They can use the thinking skills that they have learned to solve the problem of their lives. Also, students can perform well in the exam when they are taught thinking skills. Students who participated in Case Program, which used thinking skills to teach students scientific knowledge, could get a good score in examinations (‘Thinking skills’ 2003). Students can study knowledge and solve their problems of study in a creative way. Therefore, students can get benefit from creative thinking skills.…

Creativity is seeing the same situations others do but putting an individual twist on the outcome or circumstances surrounding it. The Navy's Seabees have a "can do" motto which exemplifies creativity. "You probably will not have the resources available so you must think out-side the box to accomplish the job". Most people attempt to accomplish their duties and obligations in a timely manner. "Your assignment is to be emailed to me by Friday, the 27th of February," my unseen professor demanded in her syllabus.…
