Business research has different steps to complete to ensure that the research covers every aspect needed to have the best outcome. In the workplace of construction, there is a great need of having researchers help to cure problems that are at current job sites. Such problems might be the building construction and the needed data to ensure a building is built safe and of good quality. The business research process is used in past experience to develop the process in which construction companies can use to cure a problem. Past experience can tell that in business research an individual must clearly define the objective of the research along with what the research will offer to the business. The objective usually consist of an ongoing problem that crew members can not figure out. After the goals and objective are define the research then proposals its purpose to all the stakeholders for approval. The stakeholders are usually the investors in the building site, along with supervisors of the construction crew. After approval is met the research group then comes up with a strategy to complete research that includes time frame, scope, environment of research, and type. Once strategy is in place data collection occurs. Data will exist of collecting all the contributing factors and variables of the research along with data needed to define the objective of the research. Once data is collected the analysis of data is performed. Researchers will analyzed all the data to interpret its findings. Once this is complete the researcher reports their findings to stakeholders. Stakeholders then make a decision based on research of their next move to cure the original problem that was given. The stakeholders will give direction to the construction team to fix original problem. This allows the research used to clearly define…

According to Burns & Grove (2001) the total approach of a study, from recognizing a question or problem, to developing a plan for answering the question is known as research methodology. This includes selecting participants, data collection, data analysis and dissemination. This chapter will focus on the research design and method for the proposed study. Bowling (2004) suggests that the choice of the appropriate research method is essential in order to achieve the aims and objectives of a study. According to Burns & Grove (2011) the blueprint to conducting any study lies within the research design. The design selected should be most suitable for the study in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the proposed research question (Barbour…

Research design can be considered as the plan of a research that sheds light on how the study is to be conducted. It illustrates how main areas of the research study– the population samples, measures, analysis, etc– attempt to address the research questions. It is similar to an architectural outline. Burns and Grove (2003) define a research design as “a blueprint for conducting a study with maximum control over factors that may interfere with the validity of the findings”. Yin (2009), describes research design as “the logical sequence that connects the empirical data to a study’s initial research question and ultimately, to its conclusions”. Parahoo (1997) describes a research design as “a plan that describes how, when…
