Required Service Should Not Be Forced Upon American People
I believe that required service should not be forced upon the American people. There's plenty of reasons as to why this would hurt America in general. First, It would hurt the economy because we would have to pay the required people. In reality, This would just hurt the pockets of many Americans because we don't have the kind of money to spend on required service. The people who donate money to charity would then be giving the government money to pay for the required services. I truly believe it would be a waste of money for us American people, Why pay for service when we have volunteers who work for free?
Another reason is that volunteers all over provide services for free. They provide a different type of love and passion for what

Do you think we need a military draft? I think that we do not need a military draft. There are no good reasons why we should possibly throw are life away when we don't want to. There are many good reasons against a military draft as you will read later, but first I will explain what a military draft is in case you don't know. A military draft is a way to fill in the areas where volunteering doesn't fill and when you get a license you have a number that goes with you and during a draft there will be random numbers chosen and if your number is called then you will have to serve in the military, but for only for one term unless you want to stay longer.…

The U.S government should not require its citizens to have health insurance. It Infringes on Individual rights and freedom According to the U.S Declaration of Independence, “All men are endowed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Liberty, an individual’s right to have control over their own actions. The word that is also printed on the back every U.S coin. “Give me Liberty or give me death!” The idea that our founding fathers fought for and built our country on. To require or demand something to someone who was guaranteed freedom is unconstitutional, and infringes on the rights of the citizens of America. Wall Street Journal Writers David B. Rivkin and Lee A. Casey agree in their article “Mandatory Insurance is Unconstitutional” by stating “Such a mandate, however, would expand the federal government’s authority over individual Americans to an unprecedented degree. It is also profoundly unconstitutional.” The U.S government does not in fact have the right to take away rights established by our fore fathers. Or as the Federal Judge Henry E. Hudson a little less formally stated “It’s like giving Congress the ability to force Americans to buy and automobile, to join a gym, or to eat asparagus.’’…

Personally I don’t believe that the U.S. should make citizens serve in the military. I believe this because people should be able to choose what they want to do in life and what they want to study and what they want to make of themselves. Often people don’t even have the physical strength or abilities to join the military, or the mental state to serve. Yes, I know that our country needs protection but we need other things too.…

Should citizens have the right to refuse to serve in the armed forces? The first military draft began in the year 1940. This occurred when president Roosevelt signed the selective training and service act. There were a total of 10 million men ''selected''. 10 million men who were chosen. These men had to go, they weren't there intentionally. I believe that citizens should have to right to refuse to serve in the armed forces because it can be very dangerous, traumatic, and against religious beliefs.…

However, according to Sally Brown, volunteering brings these groups together and unites communities through bonding and “mutual understanding” (qtd. in Dykhuis 16). In fact, Pappas states that many youth volunteers get started in service work through church or school. Consequently, these closely knit programs encourage friendship and address areas of each community’s concern (Dykhuis 16). This allows communities to come together through a similar cause whether that be “illiteracy, teen pregnancy, high crime rates, or drug abuse” (Spiegel and Safrit 14). Due to the different opportunities for community service, volunteers are able to understand the barriers between affluent and limited resource areas and use their knowledge of these barriers for further personal and communal…

The US Government shouldn’t provide free healthcare for all citizens. Free healthcare is too ambitious, and would be very difficult to regulate. Institutions that have tried to offer free healthcare in the past have been exploited. Johns Hopkins hospital was a charity hospital for patients who were unable to pay medical bills, usually black patients who were segregated by ward (Skloot 15). Hospitals like this took advantage of poor and black patients and did research on them without their knowledge. Furthermore, the healthcare system would be very challenging to make it all equal for everyone and it is very expensive. David drove Henrietta nearly twenty miles to get there, not because they preferred it, because it was the only major hospital…
