Republican or Democrat
Republican or Democrat The United States of America is a nation with a two party system. The two major parties in the United States are the Republicans and Democrats. These two parties play an important role in our government, they are a source of ideas for public policy, legally opposing each other, forcing compromise of ideas that are beneficial to the people to the of the United States of America. For example, Democrats believe in a non-Christian based country, when Republicans are based strictly off of faith. Our Democratic president who is now in office once said “So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, and they cling to guns or religion...” Republicans respect those who go to religion for their needs; Democrats however, don’t find it necessary. Democrats take a liberal approach, while Republicans take a conservative approach to ideas. Republicans and Democrats both have views on issues such as, abortion, same-sex marriage, and welfare. Over 1.3 million abortions are done yearly in the United States of America. Some Americans view abortion as a quick fix to a mistake; however, others view it as a torturous act. Republicans believe that every born and unborn child has the right to live; therefore, they are against abortion. Democrats on the other hand support women on abortion and believe women have the right to control their own bodies. Not only is a woman having an abortion a problem, but the organizations that support and provide them are considered a problem as well. For instance the organization Planned Parenthood is a major issue when the topic abortion is brought up among Republicans and Democrats. Planned Parenthood is an organization which provides abortions, birth control, the morning after pill, and scan for cancers and STDs (sexually transmitted disease). Democrats completely fund this organization along with many more similar clinics, where as Republicans made it their top priority for defunding Planned Parenthood. Republicans do

In today’s society, we believe that the two main political parties of America, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, are completely different. We say that democrats are liberal and the republican are conservative – two adjectives that are complete opposites. When we actually step back and look, and the two parties and their actual positions we realize and learn that the two parties are actually very similar. Many of their positions are the same but they have different policies or they disagree on a position but the roots from where they derived their positions are similar.…

Even though Planned Parenthood may provide abortion procedures, they account for only 3% of their total services (“2013-2014 Annual Report”). A large concern for anti-abortion critics is that they are indirectly paying for abortions with their tax dollars. Planned Parenthood, does in fact receive 41% of their annual revenue from the government, but only in two ways: through Title X grants and Medicaid reimbursements (“2013-2014 Annual Report”; Kurtzleben). Title X, the only federal bill specifically for contraceptive and sexual health services, prohibits the use of its funds for abortions (Cohen). Medicaid also, as of 1997, bans the use of its funds for abortions and abortion-related services (Richardson). Because both of Planned Parenthood’s government funders ban the use of their funds for abortion, no government money is used for abortions. Therefore, critics do not have to worry about indirectly paying for an abortion. Taxpayer money is merely used to fund their other services which benefit the health of both men and…

It can be argued that political parties now actually have more political differences within the parties than between them this can be argued due to the fact that both the Democrat and the Republican parties have their conservative and liberal/moderate wings. For example the Democratic Party is divided into groupings such as the southern conservative Democrats with conservative views on most social, economic and foreign issues whereas the northern liberal democrats such as the late Kennedy, with liberal views on policy issues, and from 1980s the ‘New Democrats’ as well as Gore’s Democratic Leadership Council, highlighting a variety of differences within a political party in America. Similarly the Republicans have also been internally divided, having a variety of splits to do with social and fiscal conservatives, compassionate conservatives and neo conservatives. Therefore the Republican Party is often split between its more conservative and more moderate wings of the party.…

“The defining political fact of our time is the division of America (Greenberg).” This is how George Stephanopoulos, a television journalist and former political adviser, summarizes the reality of American politics. One reason for this is America’s two-party system. These parties are the Democrats and the Republicans. Some people believe they are good, but others see them as destructive and useless. Political parties are bad for the United States because they are limited and cause national division.…

Firstly the parties have different policy views such as the Republican Party has a more hawkish foreign policy, committed to high defence spending and the use of power to defend American Interests e.g. Bush invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the war on Terror whereas the Democratic Party has a more ‘dovish’ foreign policy, internationalist in seeking diplomatic solutions to problems e.g. Obama’s commitment to withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan. Many social issues such as Abortion also have distinct differences in both parties’ policies. The DP platform 200/9 is in strong support of ‘Roe Versus Wade’ and women’s rights whereas the RP platform talked about the ‘Sanctity of all human life’. It makes I possible to suggest that the Ideological patterns of Democrats is one of ‘Liberal’ and the ideological pattern of the Republicans is ‘Conservative’. These strongly opposing views can suggest that there are more differences between that within.…

First off, Democrats support abortion. Republicans oppose abortion. Democrats want to keep the law how it is and allow you to make the decision to or not to keep your baby. People make the mistake of having sexual intercourse especially teenagers and young adults; therefore, they should be allowed to amend those mistakes. Rape Victims should be able to have the option of aborting the burden they unwilling received. Abortion is good, because it gives people the opportunity who cannot afford a child to not have to worry about paying for that child.…

America is a truly unique country. This land allows for people from all types of nationalities to come and unite under one banner. This land allows for differences in opinion, religion, and even differences in sexual preference. This land is not a dictatorship. This land is America: land of the free, home of the brave. All patriotism aside, America is a land of free thought and freedom of ideas. This leads to many, many different ideas, especially on how this country should be ran. These differences generally fall into the broad political categories of conservative or liberal. Conservative ideas tend to favor economic opportunity and less government interference within everyday life, whereas liberal ideas to favor greater government intervention and civil rights. The conservative party in America is the Republican Party, while the Democratic Party is the liberal party. They are continually at odds with one another on a wealth of issues. In fact, the issue usually doesn’t matter… pick any issue and one can hear two different points of view. Contrary to popular belief though, these two parties share common ground. Three issues that can be examined as such are public health care, election process, and lack of cooperation.…

One of the most known domestic issues is abortion: Should abortion be legal or illegal? Currently abortion is legal in the United States. Democrats are known as ‘Pro-Choice.’ They strongly support a woman’s right to choose if a safe and legal abortion is necessary. They oppose any efforts to weaken that right of a human. They also support a woman’s decision to berth a child. Democrats ensure access and availability of programs for pre- and post-natal health care, parenting skills, income support, and caring adoption programs. Republicans are known as ‘Pro-Life.’ In their opinion, medicines and treatments should be designed to enhance life, not destroy it. They believe that an unborn child has an individual right to life that can’t be taken away. They apply the 14th Amendment’s rights of protection to an unborn child. Republicans believe abortion is murder. In my opinion, it should be legal. There are many different scenarios that make abortion just. For example, many females have gotten pregnant from rape or any other horrible experience, or if they are too young and can’t take care of…

The Democratic Party is one of two major political parties in the United States. The basis of the Democratic Party is liberal and is considered center-left in the political spectrum. Center-left is defined as a political term that characterizes individuals, political parties or organizations whose ideology rests between the center and the left on the political spectrum (excludes far left stances.) The principal ideologies of the center-left are progressive, social democracy, social liberalism, as well as green politics. (Charles Funderburk, Robert G. Thobaben (1989). Is it really just the question of killing unborn babies or is one of the nation’s most debated topics based on something deeper than that? One of the most argued social issues in the United States is whether or not the federal government should provide funding to Planned Parenthood, a healthcare service provider. This debate relies moreso on the moral and ethical dilemmas faced by those supplying their opinions, rather than the facts. One of the reasons for this nationwide argument relies solely on the fact that Planned Parenthood offers the service of abortion. Many people are simply getting stuck up on this fact.…

The pro-choice party self-identifies as a feminist group in the battle over abortion laws, and their reasons are well-rounded and widely accepted; the pro-life supporters, on the other hand, consist of the original pro-life party and the pro-life feminist party, both bringing their own arguments to the table against pro-choice supporters. Pro-life party members are against abortion because they view the procedure as a form of murder. Pro-life feminists fight to criminalize abortion because they hold that abortion is a procedure designed to keep men unaccountable for their sexual actions thereby allowing them to act out sexually without any consequences. Alternatively, the pro-choice party members do not recognize the ‘abortion is murder’ argument because if fetuses cannot receive all constitutional rights and protections the argument to grant them partial protection is illegitimate. Pro-choice feminists also fight for the legalization of abortion because they feel that the decision to get an abortion is their right, moreover, that personal medical decisions should be made between a woman and her doctor, not a…

Many want to cut federal funding and donations from Planned Parenthood because these citizens believe abortion is all the organization embodies.
