Culture can be basically defined as a pattern of learned behavior and ideas acquired by people as members of society. Culture was created in order to accommodate human beings in different society and establish their identity. Culture is not accustomed to one specific characteristic. It has a multiple dimensions. The way we talk, dress, eat, sleep, work and our knowledge and skills can be accustomed to our culture. These human manners are not uniform all over the place so, they change over time and space. Thus anthropologists have distinguished different cultural traditions different from one another with very thin line between them. And in the course people share, burrow and practice culture from one other. Cultural practices have become inevitable part of human being because we have become biologically dependent on culture for our own survival. For example human beings are not born with some natural instincts. In fact we depend upon the support, nurture and culture of our surroundings to survive. And by learning the cultural practice of the place we live in, we become mature enough to make rational decision and act for our own survival.…

I believe that it is wrong to divide people on ethnic or religious grounds. Is there any difference where a person was born, and what faith he professes? We all came to this world equally and we should respect and accept each other's ideologies, values, traditions and religious believes equally. Classifying people due to their religious believes is the main weakness of the citizens of our world. In both Malala’s and Tamim’s story this weakness has been clearly mentioned. Many people are uneducated about Islam and they see it as a religion that supports terrorism. Specifically, this ideology has raised about Islam among the millions of people after September 11th attacks. “For me, Islam is a religion of peace” (Film) said the youngest Nobel Prize winner Malala. In my opinion every religion was created to bring peace to people’s lives. Terrorism cannot be connected with any religion. As Ansary states “the Taliban and Bin Laden are not Afghanistan. They’re not even the government of Afghanistan. The Taliban are a cult of ignorant psychotics who took over Afghanistan in 1997. Bin Laden is a political criminal with a plan.” (Ansary 290) Terrorists have no religion, origin, values and the most specifically they do not have a heart. Of course, I cannot ask everybody to accept Islam, however we all must respect each other's values and religious…

Professional counselors have the obligation to ensure quality and effective counseling toward clients. All the while, counselors are committed to the ethical guidelines that are established to avoid legal, professional malpractice and competent issues. Some of those guidelines consider dual relationships and professional boundaries. Counselors are not to engage in dual relationships with clients, supervisors, and coworkers, and also should be cautioned to prevent situations that may cause ethical boundary violations. However, after a client has completed treatment and has been terminated for some time, some of those rules tend to change. Therefore, counselors should be able to think logically while having criteria to make ethical decisions.…

A characteristic of cultural identity that symbolizes my cultural identity is my love and passion and for music. In my life, music has made a huge impact. My family, especially on my Mother’s side, have influenced me to keep trying harder and harder to be a full-fleshed musician and pursue what I desire to become. I enjoy not only listening to music but also watching people perform, and also writing original musical compositions for the piano. From classic rock to the pop of today, the variety of music in which I listen to may as well be endless. Part I: In some ways I guess you could say I am not very cultured, in that sense there is not a wide variety of cultural influences around me. With that being said, my family still has a large assortment of different traditions we do from decorating the tree at Christmas to going up to my grandparents house for Thanksgiving and making the same dishes every year. The area I live in is just not very diverse, it never has been. I live in Alpharetta, Georgia where the majority is white people and somewhat upper class. I consider my family to be middle class but more on the upper side. We live in a nice house in a safe neighborhood near very good schools. I went to the same high school for three years before a new…

When I examine myself dealing with my identity and culture I am reminded that the values are concrete points that are significant influences to me that guides me and it then becomes a process of my decision-making. By using my own story to explore my life experiences and roles in society and the historical and cultural conditions that have shaped my experiences, I was able to identify how I have contributed to historical movements in my lifetime.
