Abstract
The current system and procedures that are in place at healthcare system in UK are somehow not efficient especially for patient access to online appointment booking service. Within current system a patient needs to go to GP centre along with proof of address only to register for online access. Seriously, at this level of technological advancement of current world no one will like such process. Furthermore, the system doesn’t look comprehensive enough otherwise the use rate of this system would have been greater than 12%. Still majority of patients use traditional ‘over-the-phone’ appointment service and this system ends up with ultimate dissatisfaction of patients. This is why, building a new appointment system have emerged which will not only aim to facilitate patients but will also bring doctors and admin staff at GP centre in one platform and perform the efficiently. This report will focus on current systems at GP, analysis of these systems; gather requirements for new system and in depth development of a new system.
