SECTION D Industry profile: “Entertainment & Sports” BCCI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), headquartered at Mumbai, is the national governing body for all cricket in India. It's not the apex governing body in India. The board was formed in December 1928 as BCCI replaced Calcutta Cricket Club. BCCI is a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. It often uses government-owned stadiums across the country at a nominal annual rent. The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional league for Twenty20 cricket competition in India. It was initiated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), headquartered in Mumbai, and is supervised by BCCI Vice President Chirayu Amin, who serves as the league's Chairman and Commissioner. It is currently contested by 10 teams consisting of players from around the world. Its brand value is estimated to be around $3.67 billion in fourth season. It is estimated that the average salary of an IPL player over a year would be $3.84m.
League organisation:
IPL consist of 10 teams namely Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Rajesthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Night Riders, Pune Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Team Kochi, King XI Punjab owned by different franchise.     Here are the similarities between the two sports. Both sports are members of the bat and ball sport family and both have a very similar style of play with the throwing, catching and batting of the ball.
