Renaissance Man
Bono: The Eptiome Of A Renaissance Man The term "Renaissance Man" means those that excelled in many different fields. When you think of a renaissance man you think of Da Vinci, Galileo, and many more. But what about a renaissance man now? Well Bono of U2 of course is the first person I think of when I hear the term renaissance man. Bono is not only the lead singer of U2 but is also a huge humanitarian. Bono is mostly known for his musical talents and singing but he is extremely passionate about donating to charities and helping make the world a better place, but he has also created Product Red, a global fund to help fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Bono is the perfect example of a Renaissance Man. Bono is known very well for being in U2 and that is how majority of people know him and of course that is how he is famous but he is not just some typical band that gets their own songs written. Bono writes the lyrics for almost all U2 songs, which are often rich in social and political themes. His lyrics frequently allude to a religious connection or meaning, evident in songs such as "Gloria" from the band's album October, and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" from The Joshua Tree. During the band's early years, Bono was known for his rebellious tone which turned to political anger and rage during the band's War, The Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum eras. During performances he attempts to interact with the crowd as often as possible and is known for pulling audience members onto the stage or moving himself down to the physical level of the audience Which shows he is a very charming and caring type of guy just like a renaissance man was classified as. Not only does he write his own songs and makes sure they have meaning, he donates to charities as much as possible and is extremely passionate about it. He even makes paintings for charity! Bono was inspired to get involved in charity work after seeing The Secret Policeman’s Ball in 1979. In 1986 he

By definition, a "Renaissance man" is one who has acquired profound knowledge or proficiency in more than one field. Normally one from the renaissance time period(1905-1910). A modern day Renaissance man is a term used for those who have accomplished such achievements but lives in another period-the present. James Franco is a man that epitomizes such a title.. Franco is a man of many vices, actor, Broadway actor, director, author, screenwriter, producer, painter, model, host, musician, volunteer, humanitarian, director, and a college student attending multiple prestigious colleges are only some of his accomplishments. This star of such work as Spider Man, Milk, and Pineapple express is currently a graduate student in both Yale University and Rhode Island School of Design. Most recently he joined the cast of General Hospital, portraying an artist named Franco. "I had to do even more material than they do in a single day because they would do all of my material on one day a week," he says. "I'd fly in from New York, land in L.A. about 10:30 and then we'd work about 12 or 14 hours, until about 2 a.m. And I would do about 70 to 80 pages of material a day. Usually, if they get it, they'll only do one take. ... It's kind of exhilarating if you get into the pace of it." With this said, it is easy to see that he has mastered not only many occupations but handling time as well- an art many struggle to concur. Currently, James, or "Ted" as his family refers to him is publishing a series of writings he did in college called 'Palto Alto: Stories'. The book is named after the California city where Franco grew up and is dedicated to many of the writers he worked with at Brooklyn College. Inspired by some of Franco's own teenage memories, Palo Alto consists of life in Palo Alto as experienced by a series of teenagers who spend most of their time indulging in driving drunk, using drugs and taking part in unplanned acts of violence. Each passage is told by a young narrator. After…
