Should a Relaxed Dress Code Be Allowed in the Workplace? A dress code is part of modern business. It is shows discipline and creates an image of a professional worker. There are numerous reason for a dress code in a work place; to identify a position and to protect a worker from the environment they work in. the way a person is dressed usually shows what kind of person you are and what job you hold. The way you dress is your first impression on the people that see you in the workplace. Appropriate dress for the job can help make a business excel or fall just by the first impression of the customer service or employees. A positive impression of a person that represents a company is very important so maintaining standards of the dress code

Here are two reasons why it is good to let workers wear what they want. Comfort, I see it as a worker who is comfortable will work more effectively. The second is that people get to dress a way that makes them feel unique and gives them more respect for who they are. Now what some people find comfortable and their way to dress may not positively impact the whole, so if that certain individual has to deal with customers or meet in meetings they should dress to positively impact the company they represent. Most dress code rules are flexible to the occupation of a person gives them more freedom. Another point is that dress code for men and women is different most of the time. If men are allowed to wear jeans and a t-shirt then women should be able to wear that too, but according to the BC Human Rights Tribunal, there are numerous times when the code can be different for men and women. When drees code policies are implemented in a business the boss should review it to make sure it is fair enough to both sides. Limitations of the code should be based on the working conditions and the tasks that person is performing. Business dress is good for meetings; however, day to day tasks could be more casual
