Relationship Between French And Amerindians
The Treaty of Paris signed in 1763 was an agreement between Great Britain, France, Spain and Portugal agreeing that France would move out all of their colonial conquests from North America leaving Britain to be the leading power house in the Americas. This treaty was one of many agreements, proclamations, negotiations and conferences that lead to the American Revolutionary War starting in 1775 and then the freedom from England for America in 1776. The French and Amerindians had a working relationship. The French were very accepting of the Amerindians and it was not uncommon to see relationships between the two. This could not be said for the British and Amerindians, their relationship was confrontational and pugnacious. The British who had control of the 13 colonies East of the Appalachian mountains wanted to expand further West but the French had colonized in Louisiana through the Mississippi valley and parts of Canada. This want for land contributed to the case of the French and Indian war, the line between British and French land was also vague in some areas causing conflict over who the land belonged too. This ongoing unsettled dispute between the two powers started in 1750 and was pretty slow paced for the first part of war with France seeming to be the front runner because of their proficient relationship with the Amerindians, but in 1759 British armies invaded Canada and the war
