Regrets—I have a few

Most of the people I know regret a lot about their past, imagining if they could magically go back in time, and change that one thing in their lives, and would have been much better if they did. If I could magically go back in time, and change one thing about my life, that would be good study habits. Having good command over writing and reading would’ve given me confidence to convers or socialize with people around me, which I believe would have persuaded by good study habits. Socializing plays a very important role with now a day’s generation. It is very important to socialize with people at work, school or elsewhere. In order to gain confidence to socialize with people I should’ve had good study habits. By having good study habits I would’ve got the curiosity to read all the books I could and gain some knowledge, so I could socialize with people around me with confidence.
Just because I don’t have good study habits, I regret because I am suffering in socializing with people around me. Just because I cannot socialize with people, I am not part in a lot of important and knowledgeable conversations. Just because I did not have good study habits, I was not able confidently talk my friends, who had good study habits and were ahead of me in the class with good scores in their subjects. Just because I had poor study habits it is very hard for me to persuade my life by ease.
When I first came to this country at the airport immigration I had difficulty understand the words people were talking. If I could have had good command over English which I would have had over good study skills, I would have cleared my immigration much faster and by ease. If I could magically go back in time, and change that one thing, I believe that I would have been in a better place in my life by now without any regrets.

After reading Houston’s memoir Farewell to Manzanar, it brings out the treatment of the government of the United States to the Japanese living in the country at the time of world war two were discriminative. In the Executive Order 9066, it is evident that the policies the government was trying to enforce were solely aimed at oppressing the Japanese. The order opened up a gap that would allow the military commanders to make the decisions on who should be evacuated from the military area. This freedom led to the Japanese being evacuated to concentration camps since they were viewed as threats to the United States. Fred Korematsu was charged with defying military orders to evacuate and detained. According to him, he had not committed any crime to warrant him to be charged. More to that, Korematsu was born in the United States and is thus a citizen of the United States. By arresting him, the government had violated his rights as a citizen of the United States. When he tried to defend himself at the Supreme Court, the judgment passed overlooked the provisions in the law for him as a citizen. This is because it had violated the fourth, fifth and fourteenth amendments. The fourth amends requires that everyone be accorded the right to be secure with everything that belongs to them. It is provided that they shall not be subjected to unreasonable investigation, detention and also any violations of whatsoever nature unless with conclusive evidence. The Fifth Amendment provides for a person’s freedom in the United States to be respected and if it is to be withdrawn then there has to be a legal process to do as such. The fourteenth amendment states that any an individual who is a United States citizen either through birth or by naturalization remains to be a citizen. The government thus is not in a capacity to authorize any laws that will deprive any citizens of their rights or invulnerability as citizens of…

All choices have consequences, I knew that the moment I walked into high school; however, high school seemed like the typical norm: you go to school, learn, come home, homework. It is also a struggle to get back into good study habits. One sometimes finds it more fun to play with their children rather than study. Allow 20 minutes a day to study. Keeping a written daily schedule on a pocket calendar is a good way to stay on task. Another way to develop good study habits is to write homework down. Also write down when tests are due on the calendar. When you check your emails, also check the calendar daily. Don’t be discouraged, consider the struggles as exciting, and motivational, it really can be fun.…

Something I regret was when I was in 8th grade, I wouldn’t try on my grades. I would never give effort in my classes. My parents would always have to warn me or caution me to try or else I’ll get something wrong or I’ll miss a homework grade or forget to study for a test. They were the foundation in my grades, I would have gotten C’s and B’s if it weren’t for my parents always bugging me to do it. Junior high was supposed to get you ready for high school, and I don’t know what I was thinking about not trying in 8th. We’ll see what happens in high school.…

I have thought about it and in the past I have had things that changed me for better and for worst and things that I regret doing and not regret doing. Like during junior high I changed my look where my hair was down and I had glasses to hair as a Mohawk and I have contacts. That's something that I'm happy has happened to me. One thing that I regret was not growing my Jedi's braid on the right place of my head. In the past I used to be a very good student and not a very good soccer player. Then that started changing where I became good at soccer and started not doing good in school. But lately I have been trying to change that, so I can get straights A's so my Mom and Dad will be proud of me. But because my classes have been so rigores my…

Length between posts, hopefully is a good sign! Hopefully it means life is as normal as it can be for an eight year old boy on chemotherapy. Carson has been going to school regularly, and aside from tumor related minor limitations, participates as much as possible in physical activities. He has had minor side effects from the chemo and has recently mentioned that the bottoms of his feet hurt. This is a common problem with a drug he was on when he was 4, called Vincristine (and all the cancer mom's shutter.) It causes pain in the extremities. I did not remember this being a possible side effect from this current drug, and was a bit disheartened when I was told he had this complaint last week. In the past we saw it worsen the longer he was on Vincristine, so I am prayerful that will not be the case. He also, back then, would have shooting pains in his head from it, causing him to grab his head and scream. I am prayerful that does not happen either. They were always brief episodes, but intense and upsetting to us both because I was helpless to ease the pain. The other side effect seems to be that his hair is getting curly! BUT DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO HIM ABOUT IT! He thinks curly hair is only for girls. I'm COMPLETELY serious about not mentioning it to him. Last night someone at church commented about how much she liked it and much to her shock he started sobbing! If you've ever seen Carson cry, it is quite dramatic.....except with a paralyzed vocal chord he is silent.....just picture that in your mind! It's entertaining and sad all at the same time!…

Now looking back on things on my last year of high school, I most definitely regret not working hard enough for my grades and taking things seriously. I still haven't got over the fact that I basically messed up my high school education and I honestly don't think I ever will. Though I do feel like a failure, I have faith in myself that I will be able to strive for better in college. Many times I wish that I could reverse back time to fix my mistakes but realistically I know that I can't fix anything in the past, but fix things now in order to get a better future that I want for myself. Throughout this whole entire experience I learned the importance of education and how it will really help for a better future. I also learned the importance of grades and how they could affect your life at an early…
