Redeeming Love Book Report
The book Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers was written based on a time in the 1850’s. This novel was set to get the attention of young teenagers that are inspired by the book of Hosea in the Bible. The book is about men who sold their souls for a bag of gold and women sold their theirself for a place to sleep. One of the characters, Angel, took after her mother by being a prostitute and somehow she survived by always staying positive through every circumstance through life. The author, Francine Rivers uses direct description to develop the title throughout the novel. In the novel, Redeeming Love the author establishes that her choice for the title Redeeming Love stands out throughout the intense book. Francine Rivers explains, that there were many people on the street selling herself for prostitution. The author said, “Everywhere she looked, there were desperate men, exiled from home and family, seeking escape from the purgatory forged by their own decaying hopes for a future (Rivers 47). This is explained through River's knowledge and her actions that the prostitution of Angel is fully developed. She could hear a soft voice saying “you don't need to be doing this” it's not good for you, but she didn’t listen and kept on doing what's no good for her. On the other hand, the author emphasizes that the characters took a big roll of Angel's actions of becoming a prostitute that took action for the title. The biblical idea can change anyone's life if they read the bible on a daily basis.
