Introduction 60 percent of the 200 million tons of garbage that Arabs produce yearly could be recycled. It may seem easy just to throw whatever people have finished using in the trash, but our wasteful ways have negative effects on the environment. The solution to this problem is to recycle. It is the best way to protect natural resources and to reduce the costs of processing garbage and of cleaning up. The citizens of the Arab world should start thinking seriously regarding this matter. Reproducing some substances into new materials may help humanity find fruitful solutions to get rid of pollution, thus, scientists work prominently avoiding more damages on nature resources.

60 percent of the 200 million tons of garbage that Arabs produce yearly could be recycled. By recycling, people can save their country from being buried in rubbish. Much of the garbage that 's now thrown away could be recycled. 42 percent is papers made of trees. Eight percent is glass. Nine percent is metal. Seven percent is plastic. 18 percent is yard waste. The last ten percentage is food waste. Government studies showed that 60 percent of all this garbage could be recycled. Arab environmentalists suggested a higher percentage as much as 70-90 percentages. If Arabs keep recycling more of their garbage, they can also save valuable resources, such as trees, water, energy, and metals. My grandmother says that once, there was a huge forest surrounded by our hometown, but now it is almost gone. By recycling newspapers, trees will not be destructed. For example, recycling newspapers can save some of thousands of trees that are sacrificed each week in order to produce Sunday newspaper in Arab countries. Government studies showed that people also can save water and energy by recycling. Recycling used papers can reduce the amount of water used to make new ones by 60 percent. In addition, amounts of energy also can be saved by a higher percentage of 70 percent. Studies show that producing aluminum bottles and cans from recycled ones lesser the percentage of amount of energy to produce new aluminum materials to a percentage of 95 percent. And this is the biggest saving from recycling! Air and Water pollution is a thorny problem that Arabs face. Recycling garbage could reduce such a problem. About 12 percent of the garbage in the Arab region was incinerated in the last years. Although incinerators seem to be friendlier to the environment than the landfills, they produce at least 200 different organic chemicals that are extremely toxic. Some of these chemicals are released to the air; others may remain in the ash. For example, Dixon is one of those toxic chemicals. Other toxic byproducts of garbage incineration include mercury and lead which both can lodge permanently in someone 's lungs. Then clearly incinerations of garbage are costly to not only to the environment but also to people health. People often object to recycling by complaining that recycling costs too much. Studies estimated that if people achieve a higher percentage of recycling, this will cost less than traditional garbage disposal. Thus, people must understand that recycling saves money by reducing waste. Because environmental and cleaning up costs, related with all the landfills, increase as the garbage increases, people need to recycle in order to reduce the amount of garbage they produce and that is thrown away directly into landfills to be able to reduce such costs. When garbage goes to landfills, it creates poisonous pollution and a huge cost of cleaning up. In addition, an area that has a high population of people, and a high amount of garbage left, has a land full of landfills. Consequently, that land has no other functions other than having landfills. So it will never return to its original concept. For example, materials such as, metals and plastics may take years and centuries to decompose. Glass and newspapers take years as well. Hence, landfills of garbage are expensive. Recycling could be beneficial to economy! Recycling products needs more industrial fields and factories, more new jobs and more labor forces. For example, recycling may be resulted in a high increase in Arabs economy and let them produce new materials and products, as well as it will produce millions of new jobs in different fields and adds billions of dollars to the economy. People believe that some resources are being supplied. For instance, people believe that papers and newspapers do not need to be recycled at all, because more trees are being planted in order to fill the need of using papers all over the Arab world. The high rate of cutting, and replanting trees make animals poorer and have less habitat A final strong argument for recycling is anchored in people 's respect for the Earth. Nowadays, it 's common for Arabs not to care and appreciate the Earth, although their grandfathers and their ancestors tried as hard as they can not to waste anything. They cared about animals and valued them. They appreciated the nature, and saved natural and food resources. Ancestors believed that if people waste, destroy resources and exhausted the nature, nature usefulness will definitely increase, and will result in dejection the future of their children. Almost everything people use is recyclable. And all environmental and financial reasons are compelling. Arabs, and the whole world, have caused pollution, disasters, and other complicated problems related to nature, so only them, can solve such issues. Recycling makes our Earth a better place and a cleaner environment so that the people of today grant the children of tomorrow well developed and enlarged forms of life.

Intro: Imagine a whole forest being cut down just to store our garbage. This can be stopped if we recycle. Deforestation is a major issue today. This is because man is using natural resources to fulfill his needs. The increase of these demands has led to increasing levels of destruction of our natural resources. These resources being limited, a day would probably arrive when we don't really have anything to turn towards. Think about all the trees that are being axed in the forests today. Our habits of wasting paper could be one of the million reasons that contribute towards such problems. Through research that I have done I found that we can reduce the amount of garbage by recycling. In the next few minutes I would like to talk about the why recycling is important, tips on how to recycle, and the benefits of recycling. We need to start becoming aware of our responsibilities and take the next step towards saving your planet.…

Recycling and waste prevention are two very important ways to help address the issues of the environment concerning climate change. Recycling is a very beneficial factor that more individuals need to exercise in order to improve the environment’s pollution, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, and save energy and natural resources that are used to produce products from virgin materials rather than from recycled materials, which uses less energy and produces less harmful pollution. Recycling has many benefits that helps improve the earth’s conditions. Waste prevention and recycling are real ways to address these problems and begin to make a change. Recycling turns materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources, reducing the amount of natural resources needed to produce these same products. Collecting your used bottles, cans, and newspapers and taking them to a recycling bin or collection facility is just the first step, in a series of steps that generates a host of financial, environmental, and social returns. These benefits accrue locally as well as globally. Recycling protects and expands United States manufacturing jobs and increases United States competitiveness by creating more recycling jobs and facilities within the United States and producing more of our own products with recycled materials and being less dependent on outside countries and companies for these products. Recycling prevents pollution caused by the manufacturing of products from virgin materials.…

Recycling greatly benefits many aspects of the world, particularly the environment. Almost everything used in today’s society is manufactured from plastic (i.e. water/ shampoo/ mouthwash bottles, food containers, furniture, technology, etc.). Due to this, not recycling plastic can lead to many problems in our environment. Recycling plastic promotes the conservation of energy and natural resources. It also contributes to the decrease of water and air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. To add, recycling plastic can save landfill space, or structure…

However, others believe that recycling benefits the environment. Sam Martin (2006), a Mother Earth News contributing editor, argues that recycling is one good solution to help the environment. It is not always helping but it is better than producing products from virgin materials. “In 1988, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)” (Martin, 2006) put in place a recycling program. In “1995, 27% of the country’s waste was recycled (compared to 6.3% in 1960)”…

Each ton of solid waste diverted from disposal, whether reused, recycled or composted, is one less ton of solid waste requiring disposal. The value of reusing, recycling and composting solid waste is clear when you consider the amount of disposal space required to accept that material. By implementing other waste- management strategies (as well as resource-management strategies), we reduce our dependence on incinerators and landfills. And when using recycled materials in place of trees, metal ores and minerals, there is less pressure to expand forestry and mining production.…

Furthermore, Pellow reinforces the concept that governmental policies can directly damage groups of people or a certain race by pointing out the ironic conditions that take place in recycling industries. Pellow states that “solid waste is a fact of life” (1). Humans as a species tend to aggregate, making the disposal of waste a complicated issue. Disposal practices lead to divided political opinions and negative environmental impacts, such as pollution. And, although all humans contribute to producing waste, not all humans share the burden of managing this garbage. For instance, Pellow observed the social and economic conditions taking place under a recycling center located within Chicago. The foundation behind the idea of recycling is to foster the concern for environmental respect. Therefore, a recycling center should be a place where people are aware of their actions and what the resulting consequences may be. However, many environmental problems and social inequalities arose within the community of Chicago.…

Is recycling really going green with the environment? Or is recycling just a way to go for green material known as dollars? Recycling is a method in which materials that are not used anymore by people are processed in order to transform them in useful products. In the recent years, recycling has caused a lot of controversies whether if it is a good way to go green and help planet’s health or if it is just a big misconception driven by the media and the government. Some experts in the issue affirm that this practice is still running because recycling was transformed into a political issue that helps government and environmentalists to win money and create jobs. Many people, politicians and non-profit organizations support recycling, generally based on misconceptions; while there are other people that do not support it based on facts. Recycling should not be mandatory because it is very expensive, it will not save the planet’s environment and it does not save natural resources.…

In the New York Times, John Tierney wrote an article called “Recycling is Garbage”. In that article, he declared that “Recycling may be the most wasteful activity in modern America: a waste of time and money, a waste of human and natural resources”. In the article, he points out many things. For instance, packaging saves resources, reducing food spoilage. Fast-food meals generate less trash per person than home-cooked meals. Also, the cheapest way to dispose of garbage is in a landfill.…

In 2008, the waste generated more quickly than could be disposed of, was said to be 40% greater than the earth’s available yearly resources (Brown 2009). The earth’s resources and its capacity for absorbing the waste we generate has become environmentally unsustainable. Disposing and recycling of rubbish is now huge international business and although there is great economic value in this for the companies involved the need to find ways to sustain the environment is also a major factor in this process (Brown 2009). Transporting rubbish around the world where it is recycled more cheaply and remanufactured into a usable commodity to be shipped back, highlights the new value of some of our rubbish. Waste plastics, paper, card and glass are now just some of the products collected, recycled and sold for profit. Previously they may have been simply landfilled at not only monetary cost, so of ‘negative value’, but as we are now discovering, great cost to our planet (Brown…
