Abstract
In this present work, “Design and analysis of patch antenna using metamaterial (MTM) structure” is proposed for better improvement in the impedance bandwidth and reduction in the return loss at operating frequency 1.89 GHz. The proposed antenna is designed at a height 3.2 mm from the ground plane. This design is operated at 1.89 GHz and 2.553 GHz. At 1.89GHz, the bandwidths are increased up to 29.2 MHz and 19.8 MHz in comparison to 10.1MHz of RMPA alone. The Return loss of proposed antenna are reduced by 32.64dB and -29.26dB at dual band frequency as comparison to -10.26 dB of RMPA alone. Microstrip Patch antenna has advantages than other antenna is lightweight, inexpensive, easy to fabricate and achieve radiation characteristics with higher return loss. CST MICROWAVE STUDIO is used to design the metamaterial based rectangular microstrip patch antenna. Keywords- Rectangular microstrip patch antenna (RMPA), Metamaterial (MTM), Directivity, Impedance Bandwidth, Return loss, Gain.

I. Introduction
In the recent years the development in communication systems requires the development of low cost, minimal weight, low profile antennas that are capable of maintaining high performance over a wide spectrum of frequencies. The future development of the personal communication devices will aim to provide image, speech and data communications at any time, and anywhere around the world. This indicates that the future communication terminal antennas must meet the requirements of multi-band or wideband operations to sufficiently cover the possible operating bands. The performance of the fabricated antenna was measured and compared with simulation

Omnidirectional antennas are installed on most WLANS with AP’s that have them. Omnidirectional antennas do just what they sound like, which is transmit data in all directions at the same time. The signal can go horizontally and vertically; and up and down. However, there can be a dead spot in a minute area directly above the antenna which has no signal. One common example of this type of antenna is the dipole antenna. It is referred to often as the rubber duck, because it is highly flexible. (Fitzgerald, 233)…

Abstract- In this paper we design a simple microstrip patch antenna having rectangular shape. A good impedance matching condition between the line and patch without any additional matching elements depends heavily on the antenna parameters. The patch is designed to resonate over the frequency 10 GHz. The current and field distributions have been examined. The frequency domain characteristics such as return loss, impedance curve and smith chart have also been analyzed. The results of both the software IE3D and HFSS, have been compared and analyzed.…

Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths ranging from as long as one meter to as short as one millimeter, or equivalently, with frequencies between 300 MHz (0.3 GHz) and 300 GHz. Microwave technology is extensively used for point-to-point telecommunications (i.e., non broadcast uses). Microwaves are especially suitable for this use since they are more easily focused into narrower beams than radio waves, allowing frequency reuse; their comparatively higher frequencies allow…

In the recent world, day by day, the demand for the low weight, cheap, low profile and efficient antennas is increasing. Micro-strip patch antennas are more popular for meeting these requirements in the several applications. The main problem encountered with these such kind of patch antennas is high value of return loss and bandwidth but these problems can be solved by using some kind of designing approach. In general three kinds of ways are existing viz. ground layer approach, designing at 1.6 height and at 3.2 height. But no one can get the similar merits from all these approaches such as designing at ground layer may cause shift in a resonating frequency with improvement in return loss and bandwidth which is not satisfactory. So designing at ground layer is a tedious job. The second way, that is designing at…

Unlike traditional narrowband systems, their UWB counterparts operate by employing very short electrical pulses of nanosecond and sub nanosecond duration resulting in very wide transmission bandwidths ranging from several hundred megahertz up to several gigahertz. Such huge bandwidths must be supported with suitable UWB antennas that behave unavoidably as band pass filters. UWB antenna designer may chose among known antenna solutions or create new ones to meet diverse system-related requirements, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and cost constraints. Some authors considered historically an ideal UWB antenna that radiates time derivatives of the input signal but this principle is not helpful to design practical UWB radiators. Rather other rational and physics-based guidelines could be more productive. [4]…

Today we are in danger due to health hazards caused by mobile radiation. Recent surveys and experts confirmed that continuous exposure to mobile radiation causes brain tumors, cancers, headache and stress feeling. Not only human beings but also birds, animals are facing lot of problems due to mobile radiation exposure ,but many Mobile Network operators establishing Antennas in and around us without meeting the guidelines of Government. Then how to reduce the effect of the radiation caused by the antennas, where to construct these antennas ? The answer is somewhat crazy i.e., in SKY. Recent research and experiments by NASA and JAPAN suggested that we can establish these antennas in the SKY i.e., in stratosphere where the velocity of wind is 10-15 miles/hr. These antennas in sky are termed as HAPS (High Altitude Platform stations). These platforms are established above the region of air-traffic control in stratosphere and are used not only…
