I sat down with the rest of my classmates on the blue round rainbow rug that has been lovely placed right outside the children section in our school library. Our librarian there has chosen to read us “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein. I listen to every word she says as the words flowed from her mouth in such a way that it seem to put me in a hypnotic state. Since that day, I have love to hear that story read aloud to me. I did not know how to read or how to figure out what the words on the page said, but that was the day that started my journey to learning how to read.
