Is Management really an essential ingredient for Success?
Overview:
Today, the word “Management” is the topic of discussion by everyone. Although, good management is emphasized a lot in our personal lives, it is considered an integral element for success in business world. It is said that with good management, a failed organization can be turned into a successful one; while bad management can lead a successful one to failure. The emergence of large scale organizations in the last few centuries is not merely a product of global opportunities, advanced technology and bigger financial pools, but also a direct result of superior and better business management that we follow today.
But, is it really so? Does good management really do the wonders that it promises? Is it something that we have really experienced or much of it is traditional exaggeration? Is it a fact or fiction?
Objectives:
The main objective of the case study is to provide a suitable answer for the questions discussed above. By the end of the reaction paper it has to be established whether, management is important for organizational success or not. We will also try to analyze if there are any exceptions to what we establish or not.
Study Questions: * What management really is? * In what ways, management affects a business? * Is there any real world proof supporting our views? * Does management affects other processes or is it affected by others?
Analysis:
Before we go on to discussing our main questions, it would be wise to have a look at what management is. “Management is the process of planning, organizing, leading and controlling the efforts of organizational members and using resources inside and outside the organization to achieve set objectives.”1 If we analyze this basic definition in detail, we will very easily give answers to some of our main questions. So,
