Reaction on Noli

“REACTION PAPER”
The title of this novel "Noli Me Tangere" is a Latin words meaning in tagalong “Huwag Mo Akong Salingin”. Jose Rizal, our national hero is the writer of this novel, where in, this novel was written during his time, where in, the exact year was 1884, he was in Madrid taking up medicine when he write this novel. When he finished his course (Medicine), he went to Paris and continues writing this novel. In Berlin, Jose Rizal finished the last part of this novel. This novel was written to remind us the bad things that Jose Rizal experienced during his time by the Spanish.

Having completed his studies in Europe, Juan Crisostomo Ibarra came back to the Philippines after a 7-year absence. In his honor, Captain Tiago a family friend threw a welcome home party, attended by friars and other prominent figures. One of the guests, former San Diego curates Fray Damaso Vardolagas, belittled and detracts Ibarra. These chapters tells about the insecurities and greedy to their powers like example Fray Damaso and I think the Fray in our modern life now are the government and rich people. According to Tenyente Guevara, Don Rafael was unjustly accused of being a heretic, an allegation brought forth by Fray Damaso because of Don Rafael's non-participation in the Sacraments, such as Confession and Mass. Fr. Damaso's animosity towards Ibarra's father is complicated by another incident when Don Rafael helped out in a fight between a tax collector and a child, with the former's death being blamed on him, although it was not deliberate. Suddenly, all those who thought ill of him surfaced with additional complaints. He was imprisoned, and just when the matter was almost settled, he died of sickness in jail. This is inequitable for all of us who are accused by no evidence and not even defended himself for being just helpful to others that will bring us to the prison. Today, were still experiencing the same situation that they experienced before. Rizal write for our country thus, we youth must act to help other people by our own plan. We need to be more patient and understandable to others. Like sunflowers that symbolized enlightenment, unity and hope. We need to be the sunflowers to others.
