Ray Bradbury's All Summer In A Day
The theme of Ray Bradbury's story “All Summer in a day” is people who are different will always be treated differently and wrongly, also others see it and let it happen. By those who are different the author means, the smaller group of people who are not like the larger group of people. In Ray Bradbury's story “All summer in a day”, the human race has found a way to make Venus habitable for mankind, therefore, people live on Venus. In Venus, it rains every single day except for once every seven years. For two hours after seven years, the sun finally comes out again but not for an entire day. Margot, the main character of the story misses the sun so much that she has fallen into some sort of depression because of the absence of the sun. Margot is in her classroom on the day in which the scientists expect the sun to appear for the first time in seven years.

Groups of people commits acts of cruelty towards others and people just stand around and let it happen because they believe that it is not their problem and they shouldn't worry about it. Like Margot's classmates who did not participate in the cruelty towards Margot or did not stand up for her. However they will feel the same thing as the children who committed the cruelty against Margot, guilt. Margot's classmates who did not help her or stand up for her will feel regretful because they did nothing from stopping Margot's happiness from being ripped away from her. The worst thing is they will have to live with knowing they could have done something to help Margot. They did not do anything to help Margot because of their jealousy of what she got to experience took over them, they did not help her so it's also their fault that Margot will be sad for the next seven years until the sun appears once
