I have been given a profile for the class as a whole, with no barriers to learning or special needs indicated. I aim to assess any individual needs through observation of the first part of the session conducted by my colleague Sarah Chubb

As I have no prior knowledge of my students learning styles I will plan my lesson using the "The VARK Modalities, Fleming and Mills (1992) suggested four modalities that seemed to reflect the experiences of the students and teaches" www.vark-learn.com

Visual - Auditory - Read/write - Kinaesthetic Visual - Large symbols displayed using PowerPoint

Auditory/kinaesthetic - Practical activities where students physically demonstrate signs whilst speaking

Read/write - Handouts of signs and symbols on yellow or white paper

explains the role and purpose of any informal or formal assessment activities

Evaluation will be ongoing throughout the presentation using observation with question and answers I will model a cluster signs for the students to copy, my support tutor (Sarah) and I will check the learners comprehension and use of signs correcting only as a group. Working as a group will help to make the environment safe to make mistakes without being singled out.
