Hercule Poirot plays the part of a private detective and retired Belgian police officer, he gets on a Taurus Express train to Stamboul who is caught up in a murder of a man named Ratchett . A piece of paper with the word Armstrong on it helps Poirot figure out who Ratchett really is and why someone would want to murder him. A few years back, a man named Cassetti kidnapped a three year old girl, named Daisy Armstrong. He collected a ransom from the Armstrong family, and killed her. Poirot concludes that Ratchett is actually Cassetti. He must have changed his name while he was on the run. This all takes place on a train that is stuck in a blizzard.
