ABSTRACT
In the Completely Randomized Design, the number of Experimental Unit (EU) is not limited. Sometimes, EU is not easy to be measured or to be observed. This situation can be handled by using the Completely Randomized Design with subsampling. This research studies procedure of ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) in the case of : (1) unequal numbers of EU per treatment, but a constant number of sampling units for each EU, (2) an equal number or EU per treatment, but an unequal numbers of sampling units per EU, and (3) unequal numbers of EU per treatment and unequal numbers of sampling units per EU. The result shows that procedure of ANOVA for all of the three cases are different. Furthermore, the second and third case have similar forms in term of their expected means squares. 1.

An experiment establishes the relationship through manipulation of the study sample. For an accurate estimate of the relationship between variables, an experiment may need only tens of subjects. Experimental designs are often called true experimental research which can be identified by three characteristics: (1) pre-posttest design, (2) a treatment group and a control group, and (3) random assignment of study participants. Trochim, W. M. K., & Donnelly, J. P. (2008).…

The study to be conducted in this project will be quasi experiment. This is because, quasi-experimental approaches may reduce the time and resources required because extensive pre-screening and randomization is not required or utilized. Quasi-experimental research may be more feasible because, it often does not have the time and logistical constraints associated with many true experimental designs. Also, it reduces the difficulty and ethical concerns that may surround the pre-selection and random assignment of test…

The Posttest Only Control Group designs solves the reactive or interaction effect of testing by removing the use of a pretest, while the Soloman Four Group Design addresses the same issue by using experimental and control groups with and without pretests, the interaction of testing and the treatment are controlled. Additionally, this threat effects all Quasi-Experimental Designs since they lack a control group, the threat can be eliminated by using design features that include a control group. The second threat is the interaction effects of selection biases and the experimental variable, where using only posttest measures may be suggested as selection biases. Separate-Sample Pretest-Posttest designs account for this threat, by creating random assignment procedures and applying treatment before to some groups and after to others. The third threat to external validity is reactive effects of experimental arrangements, which are typically due to a subject having knowledge that they are participating in a study. This threat can affect the Equivalent Time Samples Design since it has limitation…

Randomization to control and experimental groups can help researchers avoid threats such as testing, mortality, and maturation. If the researcher continually uses random control and experimental groups they will decrease the threats to the internal validity of the project. When researchers control all the variables they can possibly control in an experiment…

Some experiments are designed so that two or more treatments (independent variables) are explored simultaneously. Such experimental designs are referred to as factorial designs. In factorial designs, every level of each treatment is studied under the conditions of every level of all other treatments. Factorial designs can be arranged such that three, four, or n treatments or independent variables are studied simultaneously in the same experiment. If two independent variables are analyzed by using a completely randomized design, the effects of each variable are explored separately (one per design). Thus, it takes two completely randomized designs to analyze the effects of the two independent variables. By using a factorial design, the business researcher can analyze both variables at the same time in one design, saving the time and effort of doing two different analyses and minimizing the experiment-wise error rate. Some business researchers use the factorial design as a way to control confounding or concomitant variables in a study. By building variables into the design, the researcher attempts to control for the effects of multiple variables in the experiment. With the completely randomized design, the variables are studied in isolation. With the factorial design, there is potential for increased power over the completely randomized design because the additional effects of the second variable are removed from the error sum of squares. The researcher can explore the possibility of interaction between the two treatments variables in a two-factor factorial design if multiple measurements are taken under every combination of levels of the two treatments. Factorial designs with two treatments are similar to randomized block designs. However, whereas randomized block designs focus on one treatment variable and control for a blocking effect, a two-treatment factorial design focuses on the effects of both variables. Because the…

Sampling design: 1- probability sampling – Based on principles of randomness . – Elements in the population have some known chance or probability of being selected as sample subjects . – Enables the researcher to use powerful statistics . 2- Non-probability sampling : - Elements do not have a known or predetermined chance of being selected as subjects . – Does not permit use of powerful statistics . 3- Decision to use probability or non-probability depends on : - Whether representativeness is important (and thus wider generalizability ) . – Time and other resources . – Purpose of the study . probability sampling : - Simple random sampling. – Systematic sampling – Stratified sampling – Cluster sampling . Simple random sampling : - Easiest to understand – Every element in the population has a known and equal chance of being selected . – Advantages : Least bias , Offers the most generalizability . – Disadvantage: Updated sampling frame Stratified random sampling : - Involves a process of stratification or segregation ,followed by random…

The experimental design used in this study is the independent groups design. This design is most suitable as we would be unable to use the same group of participants for each study as they would already know the words and pictures from the previous experiment. This design is particularly good when we are conducting a compare and contrast…

This project entails developing a web based application for Dau Alumni Portal for two of the faculties that is Faculty of Information Technology and the Careers Department which both are facing a problem on how to keep in touch with their graduate student. As for solving this problem, portal for alumni need to build as the objective is to create a system of a "middle person" entity, allowing alumni members and non-members to communicate in virtually. This portal is Internet web-based systems that consist of interactive web page which is accessible exchanging information between user anywhere around the globe and web set without any time constraint. In addition, management is getting updated alumni record and resources by administrators could also be done via internet. This portal integrates several software packages and programming languages suitable for the development process. It is hope this portal would greatly benefit to all people who involve with it.…

It is of great importance that students understand the rationale behind having to take up a Rizal course in college. For high school students, the Noli Me Tangere and the El Filibusterismo are injected into the Filipino subject as part of the overall curriculum. In tertiary education, however, Rizal is a subject required of any course, in any college or university in the Philippines.…
