Radiologic Technologist Personal Statement
Radiology I have always been fascinated with how the human body functions. Growing up in a third world country, where curable diseases were highly prevalent due to lack of trained medical professionals. I always knew I wanted to seek a career in the medical field. This dream became realistic when I came to the United States of America to finish high school. Coming as an immigrant with a minimal knowledge of the English language and American Culture, I spent my high school years learning English and struggling to adapt to the rigorous school curriculum. After completing high school, my life took an unexpected turn; I found myself working full time to support the needs of my family. Nonetheless, years later, my dream to pursue degree in the field of healthcare has flourished. By entering this field, I hope to make a positive contribution both locally here in Pennsylvania and globally.

Diagnostic imaging is frequently used to help identify many medical conditions from slip-and-fall fractures to cancers. As a future radiologic technologist with a Northampton Community College degree, I can provide the knowledge needed by doctors to effectively diagnose anatomical abnormalities to help provide the necessary treatments for patients. Radiologic technologists have a bigger role to play than to be just technologically savvy and to obtain diagnostic imagines. They must be team players follow orders from physicians plus have excellent interpersonal skills. As an adventurer seeking to be challenged, I find this a perfect career choice, in which I can be academically enriched and personally satisfied. As a future radiologic technologist, I not only plan to work in a hospital setting, but I also want to devote some time towards community service. I plan on joining organizations that provide medical treatment for the third world countries such as Afghanistan, a place I once called
