Despite our progress, racism still remains a problem in our society. Collectively, most of us agree that racism and discrimination is wrong, but yet it still occurs. Targeted groups of racism experience social disadvantages such as reduces access to education, health care, and wealth. The virtual lecture pointed out that racism is often not intentional. Many of us have gone along with the flow or continue to keep old habits without even realizing that what we are doing is wrong. This is what makes it so important that we continue to study and discuss race and racism. The more we acknowledge what is happening the further we will be able to progress in the fight to end racism.
